I've been accepted to both and I have no idea which would be better for me. I currently live in McKinney and I have no problem moving to Galveston if that's what's best. I'm looking to see if there's a big difference between the two and which one would give me the better opportunity for work after graduation/passing the NCLEX? Please help I don't know many people who could give me advice.

TWU has one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in not only Texas, but the US- it is an amazing program! During two seperate interviews outside of the Dallas area (graduated from the Dallas program), both were in impressed and knew the name- I have no idea what UTMB is, and I spent hours poring over credible nursing schools, and everywhere I turned TWU was the best- only beat by Baylor in NCLEX pass rates, and it is about an 1/8 of the cost!

Have you been to a utmb open house yet? I went for a second time a few days ago and fell in love with it. Their SIM lab is amazing and the current students were the ones giving us a tour of the campus and nursing centers. I've been to both open houses and personally think utmb is better. They're both excellent schools, and you would have a wonderful education from both. They made it clear in the open house that the cohort that just graduated had 100% of their students with jobs before they even took the nclex which is amazing to me. I'm sure TWU has the same though. For me, it was mostly location and speaking with the current students there to hear their opinions on the program that influenced my decision to attend UTMB over uthsc and twu. Good luck (:

Galveston isn't that great of a place to live. Several parts of Galveston are kind of....sketchy. However, I did like the vibe that I got for the culture at UTMB. Ultimately, I didn't want to be closer to any potential hurricanes by being on the coast, so I decided not to attend UTMB. TWU has a reputable name and I would've gone there had I not gotten into UTHealth.
