Are you also applying to UT Houston? If so, how did you do on the HESI Exam....I am currently studying for it and plan to take it on Aug 20...I am little overwhelmed because I am reading 3 books....What book did you use to study for the HESI...Thank you in advance for the info...
I still don't know if I'll continue with the apply process at UT since I just took the HESI for PVAMU on 7/31 and apparently you have to wait 30days I'll have to clarify that with UT. Anyway, PVAMUonly asks for four sections A&P, grammar, math and reading. I went ahead and took the Critical thinking eventhough its not required, but didnt take the vocab which UT does required. I passed all the sections for PVAMU.
Resources I used were the TEAS V book since I took that exam for UTMB, online websites; QUIZLET (VERY GOOD FOR THE A&P and vocab section.) Math is pretty simple and basic. Definitely review all your A&P notes if you have taken that class.

I'm applying to the bsn program for utmb for spring 2011. I know interviews are going to start soon but I was wondering if anyone knew what a typical class schedule would be like? I'm pregnant and due in November so I'm trying to figure out daycare and class schedules and my husbands work schedule. Anyone out there in the program that knows a typical schedule for the traditional bsn program? Thanks!
Also, what were yalls typical test scores for the teas?

A few days ago, I was informed that they are in the last state of reviewing application. Those whose TEAS scores have not been received will be sent an email and given a deadline. I suggest you call in and make sure everything is in again. Get the name of the person you are speaking to, just in case.
You should hear back from the school end of August, early September.
Good luck!
Where did you go to take the HESI??

That is good to hear. does anyone know how many applicants they have recieved for the Spring?
I decided not to take the HESI on August 20th because I don't feel prepared. However, when I do decide to take the exam it will be at the Harwin location in Houston, Tx.
good morning everyone,
i spoke with the son this morning and was informed that they received roughly 300 applications and will only be accepting 80 students for the traditional bsn program. i was also told that it will not be until mid-september when we find out whether or not we will be interviewed. we will also be finding out by email so make sure that the email address you have listed under econnect is the one that you use most often. i hope this is help to someone. i know it definitely put my mind a little more at ease.

good luck to all of you!...lets keep our hopes up..i really hope we all get accepted..300, i dont think that's bad b/c i was reading through the fall 2010 thread and there were 600 applicants..plus there are usually a few that get accepted at other schools and dont accept utmb which would allow more spots for us spring 2011... i really really hope so!!
I really hope we all are one of those "80" people to get into the nursing program :)
