UTMB Spring 2010

Published

Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.

Thanks Ms. Sealy!

They are accepting 60 people this spring right? i was reading on the Fall UTMB thread that they accepted around 65. And do we receive the acceptance by email or letter? It looks like they got the interview and acceptance thru email. But you also receive a letter for the acceptance and by the way they sent the acceptance emails out about a week after they interviewed! really quick :)

misspink86,

at the utmb open house, they said there would be 60 accepted, but if you factor in the 10 people who will probably decline acceptance that's more like 70 because they will go to the wait list to cover those spots. enrollment services expects about 300 applicants and i think you said they are only sending out 100 interview invitations? i like those odds!

they did get the interview invitations thru email, a lot of folks said it went to their spam folder.

and omg are you serious, acceptance letters came out a week after the interviews?!

ms sealy,

did they say whether or not its first come first serve on interview process.

yes jazzynurse2be, I was reading back thru the UTMB Fall thread 09 and they had the interview around or on the 15th of may and by the 23rd some of them were getting acceptacne emails! its on page 4, thats when they start posting about it :) I like the odds too!

thanks ms sealy, I am so anxious and the time is not even near.

jazzynurse2b,

they consider several factors when deciding who gets an invitation and the host emphasized the importance of the personal statement over everything else below:

utmb faqs:

what information will the school of nursing consider when reviewing files for admission?

the school considers three gpa’s for the bsn program: science, prerequisite, and overall. your gpa is an important aspect of your application. the school also considers the number of withdrawals and failures on your transcripts. we also will look at your personal accomplishments, scholastic honors, leadership roles, hardships, cultural experiences, community service, and any extra curricular activities in which you have been involved. your personal statement is another very important aspect of your application.

pv is the only school that i know of that does the first come first served thingy.

ha ha opps I'm sorry ms sealy I put jazzynurse2be name on the last post i put up about the interviews and acceptance letters from fall 09.... I meant to put yours (ms sealy) .lol I'm getting sleepy

jazzynurse2b we are all sooo anxious, so don't feel bad! i am so glad we have this bulletin board to talk to each other. i feel like i'm just sitting around watching the dates on the calendar change s-l-o-w-l-y.

i know you did misspink86 ..that why i read it anyways! :D
