I am going to apply to UTMB Galveston's spring 2021 program. I have a 3.7 overall GPA and a 3.9 prereq GPA. I'm taking the TEAS this Friday and was wanting know if anyone could tell me whether I'd be a competitive applicant. The only other thing I have is that I've worked at a doctor's office walking back patients, taking vitals, inputting and updating patients meds, etc. for about four years. I have looked at other threads for utmb and it seems most people who got in or at least were considered had higher gpas than I do. Also, does anyone know the wait period for retaking the UTMB for the TEAS? I'm having a hard time finding it.

Also found out I missed the Summer 2021 application so now my next opportunity to get in would be Fall 2021.
I'll probably end up at another school before then.
The supplemental application is just questions about residency!? So dumb. My application won't even be looked at. I'm so upset. I kind of had my heart set on UTMB ?
I am so sorry. I can’t even imagine how upset you must be. ? I really hope that something works out for you in the future and you find a program that works. ?

Online classes can be difficult, it’s much easier to get distracted. Fortunately, there are recordings of the lecture so you can always watch those if you’ve missed something. At the start of the semester will be assigned a peer mentor and they are super helpful for figuring out which books to buy, how And what to study, and any other general questions you may have. Use them! There is a lot of information in this program so try to limit your concerns to what you’re teachers tell you. -it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Finally, nursing school can be difficult but you will do great!

CONGRATS in advance to everyone who was accepted and waitlisted
For those who were denied, don't give up. Don't let one rejection decide your path or your future. I was in the same position a few months ago at what I thought would be my dream school.
A rejection is just a redirection ❣️
Good luck to everyone!
Howdy! I got accepted today and wanted to share my stats...
Firstly, I am in my last semester at texas a&m getting a bachelors in allied health, I have an associates in biology from blinn college and I applied to UTMB on the very first day of applications on 2/1/2020
TEAS Score: 92 (I think this carried me the most)
Overall GPA: 3.82
Science GPA: I think like 3.6-3.7 (minus Microbiology because I am taking that RN and it is my last prerequisite left)
Experience: home health nurse intern, volunteer officer for future aggie nurses and current vice president, RA for 3 years
I wish y'all the best. I felt crazy during this process especially thanks to covid pushed deadlines but the day WILL COME. Hang in there. <3
