Utmb fnp fall 2016

Hi, I m going to start fnp program @ utmb in the fall. I was wondering if there is anybody else on the blog. I live in dfw area. Also suggestions from current or former students will greatly appreciated. Thanks

hey, I just accepted admission for the Fall 2016 as well. Glad to see someone else started a thread. I am in the Austin area, hopefully this program doesn't require a lot of campus visits (its almost 3.5 away from Austin). I never used this allnurses website but it seems great to communicate and network with others in the same semester! I am excited to start! Have you heard anything as far as the orientation or anything that we need to plan for ( i know its kind of early)? Glad to meet you and hopefully we will start soon :) Keep me posted with anything you hear and I will do the same.

Hi I received an email that has a link for new student guide. It was really helpful. It has all the deadlines for things we need to do before orientation like back ground check, immunization record etc. let me know if you need to foward it to you.

Has anyone figured out how to set up their utmb email account. I was just accepted on Friday but accepted the admission yesterday. Thanks

I receive my user name in the 4th or 5th communication email. But I had to call tech support for password. The first Password for login in mystar is temporary. You might have to wait few days to get all the emails from school if you just accepted the position yesterday

How many communication emails did you all receive? It seems I only received the new student guide and how to set up the utmb email?

Thanks! Yes, I received the same student guide last week. It was very helpful. I think some things cant be initiated until certain times though. Looking forward to orientation on Aug 22 & 23 :) Are you attending it?

I received about 5 communication emails. One of them had a user name. If I am not mistaken, I believe you must pay the deposit fee before you get your username emailed to you. I might be wrong though. Also, you do have to call the IT dept of the school to get your password set up. I hope this helps :)

I did pay the deposit already but for some reason I've only received the fifth communication email with the username and password setup? What did the other communication emails entail? And yes I plan on attending the orientation!

The first three communication emails were just were a general welcome to Mystar which included a temporary username and password. I did not get a fourth email, however they emailed me with communication #5 which said to contact the help desk for setting up a password. Thats all I got so far. I did set up everything and now I am able to log on.

Does anyone know when we will be enrolled in classes?

They gonna enroll us on the classes based on our degree tracks in August. That's from what I got out of new student guide.
