UTMB FALL 2010 (University of Texas Medical Branch)

U.S.A. Texas

UTMB Fall 2010 Application period starts tomorrow Nov. 15, 2009

Who here is applying for it?

Btw, there is the ATI TEAS entrance exam for FALL 2010.

Anyone taken it yet?

I can't seem to find the registration for it in the atitesting.com.

Registering for the test was straight forward, however, it did not say what version of the test UTMB uses. ATI sells two different study guides, one for each version. According to them you must contact the school to learn which test will be given.

I was actually surprised that no one else had asked the question. I ordered the one for TEAS V, hopefully I will get the chance to confirm with the school tomorrow.

Is anybody kinda ****** off about the TEAS testing? The website says that it is only $30, when it is in reality $55. Then it says that you have to take the Critical Thinking section, but you don't really need it, apparently. Annoying!

Yeah, I was kind of annoyed with the TEAS test, too. I took it about a month before UTMB had anything on their website about us needing to take it (I need it for another school). Since I took it at the testing center at my college, I had to pay a proctor fee in addition to the fee for the test and the fee that it is going to cost for them to send my scores.

I even emailed the preadmission advisor about the fee thing and she said " I believe the exam is $30 and the testing sites charge $25." So she cleared it up for me (I was paranoid I was registering for the wrong test at first!) But really, they know how much it costs, they should put the real price on the website so people don't get confused or anything.

Hey, at least it's not the $90 that the HESI charges (ouch!). Also, the TWU website, for instance, says the HESI is $85, when in fact it's $90. Not as big a difference as the TEAS but it shows that UTMB is not the only one who does it.

ok, i just got word from admissions regarding the teas. here is the response:

"statistics for the new version (v5) of the teas exam will not be available until march. however, the minimum passing score last year was 72%."

hope this helps everyone.

Does anyone know the deadline for UTMB, or when they start reviewing applications?

I believe the deadline is February 15 and they probably won't review applications until May. From reviewing Spring 2010 posts, I think they started two to three months after deadline.

Has anyone tried to send their test scores to UTMB through the ATI website?

When I check econnect online, there is not any area to show TEAS complete or received. I assume it's because this is the first time UTMB is implementing the test.

I talked with someone yesterday and they said it was too early to have information in the econnect.

When I took my teas test last month they told me to call and make sure that the test was sent to UTMB. I tried calling ATI and they said they didn't have access to knowing that information and to call the center that I tested with. I have not done that yet. I was just wondering if they told any of you guys that also. I mean I paid the money for it to be sent to UTMB and everything so I'm really not understanding why I would need to call anyone to check if it was sent to UTMB. So I'm just wondering if I should continue pursuing the "person" I'm suppose to locate to ask or if I should just simply wait and see if it shows up in econnect.

]Hello everyone. I just got plugged in and created an account. Just want to say good luck to everyone through the entire waiting process. I applied for the Spring 2010 and unfortunately did not make it in. I am however trying again and hoping for the best.
