UTMB Fall 2016

Published

Anyone else applying to UTMB for fall 2016?

I called again yesterday and was told decisions will be sent by the end of April.

Since people have already received denials, are those the only denials that are going to be sent out? Does anyone know?

I feel like they won't send anymore out until all the spots are filled

Have they already reviewed all the applications for the fall?

I'm just wondering if all the people that did not get a denial for the fall if that means they are going to get an interview....

I think they only sent denials to those who didn't meet the minimum requirements for gpa and pre-reqs. Then they prob rank the qualified apps by merit and interview the best apps first and continue down the list. Eventually they'll stop once they have enough people who accepted so if you're low on the list you prob won't get denied immediately but you're still likely to get denied unless everyone above you bombs their interview or chooses not to go. Thats just my theory, I don't have any reasons or sources other than that's what makes sense.

makes sense to me. Thanks

Hey guys so I have been having transcript issues since I submitted my application 2 months ago to the point where I sent my transcript directly to UTMB now my application says under review. I know I may be too late to do anything but does anyone have any advice?

Where does it say that in mystar? The only thing I'm able to see is completed. It has been this way since I submitted the supplemental in December.

**the only thing I am able to see is "completed" in the Application Status section of MyStar**

I know interviews start this week, if anyone interviews could you give us an update as to what to expect please :) mine is Monday, a little nervous :nailbiting:

Mine is this Friday! I will let you know how it goes (:

Hey guys! I had my interview today. It went well! I met someone in admissions first and then a faculty member came to take me to her office for the interview. She had several prepared questions to ask me. My advice is to read your personal statement before the interview because they do expect you to know what you said in it. The questions weren't bad so don't worry. After she asked me all the questions (I think there were about 6), we just discussed the program and I asked a few questions. Both women that I met were really nice. The program seems awesome! Good luck to everyone who has upcoming interviews (:

Also, do not forget to bring $4 in cash to pay for the token to get out of the parking garage.
