UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 14

Published

Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

AAAAAAW MAN! This sucks..:grumpy:

Well...it could be worse...they could have said they wouldn't get back to us until Friday the 18th...or hell, Tuesday for that matter...lol-- join me as I reach for ANYTHING to get me through this weekend!

I don't know about you guys but i'll keep myself busy this weekend to take the jitters off my mind.. Anyone going to the oyster bake this weekend?!

I have two shifts at work sat and sun so i'll be busy but that doesn't mean it will cross my mind 99.9% of the time

Yeah guys I'm going to have to bow out for this semester and apply in the spring. I made a fatal error and I know they will deny me. I can't believe I just noticed and after getting this far. I know come Monday I will get a denial. But maybe I will see you guys when I'm in. Good luck to you all! I know seriously that all of you will get in

What are you talking about MCruzma ???!

Ugh!! I'm so beyond upset! I took Chem 1411 and 1412 not 1405 and 1407. When I read their prerequisites I assumed gen chem was gen chem but the number was relative because it's different for different schools. So now 1405 and 1407 are intro to gen chem. not gen chem it's self. Oh well pick myself up, dust myself off and just try again is all I can do ;)

How did you find this out and are you sure?? Are you saying you took intro to gen chem I'm confused

I took Gen Chem not intro to gen chem and the uthscsa says that they require intro to gen chem. And I'm assuming since those are mandatory classes that there is no exception. Even thought Gen chem is a higher science class then intro to gen chem.

Mcruzma look at this... from my understanding they take either or...

Also, did y'all notice they changed the humanities credit to ethics only on they Required Preq pg?

Hey don't lose hope.. I actually applied to uthscsa two semesters ago and they denied me immediately for not having the chem class which I already took but the NursingCAS haven't received my application yet.. Anyway my point is that if they wouldn't accept your chemistry class they would have told you the first round because they evaluate the classes you have first before picking you as a candidate. And your chemistry class is more in depth than the intro to chem one. If anything, you're more knowledgable about the subject and there's nothing wrong with that. :)

They take Gen Chem I and Gen CHem II from my understanding and those are what I took
