Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

Dear Fall 2014 Traditional BSN Applicants,
*
We have reviewed all applications except for one group that still need to be scored. Thus, please be aware, we will notify you of admission, waitlist, or denial via email on Monday, April 14th. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we assemble our Fall 2014 Traditional BSN cohort.

Best wishes to all,

I can't believe they extended the decision! So annoying. I'm starting to be concerned about the supplemental being sent out to everyone that met "minimum requirements" like 2.5 gpa and 75 teas. The email said they weren't done "scoring," which means they didn't do any "scoring" before and they probably just eliminated the people that didn't meet those requirements. I was hoping that getting the supplemental was given to most people they really wanted and it was just the background check that needed to be done. Unless the scoring was for the essays, but that's only like 1% of the decision.
AHHHHHHH! I just really wanted to think we had a good advantage with the supplemental.
Also, are we all getting the email on Monday? Or are some of us getting accepted now?
Leixa, I went ahead and did everything for another program that I was accepted to. I did the drug screen, background check, TB test, etc just in case so I wouldn't lose my slot in that program in case this one didn't pan out. If at all possible, maybe you should go ahead and do it for UIW. I am still undecided about which program to choose (if I happen to be accepted at UTHSC as well) because the cost of the other program is much more doable and I somewhat fret over paying for tuition for the BSN. That's the next worry on the horizon! But I sure am looking forward to Monday!
