UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 14

Published

Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

Ok thats the most easiest way so Im sticking to that

I'll be having to petition chemistry to count. I have 17 credits of chemistry. Clinical Chemistry and General Chemistry. But since on my transcripts it doesn't say General Chem 1 & 2 they said they will have to petition it.

That sucks. I'm also concern about several of my classes not transferring. I wish they would send evaluations so that we can check if all our classes transfer.

Yeah, it does suck. I tried to talk to them about it before and all I got was run around and they didn't know what they were talking about. First they said it'd transfer, then it wouldn't, then it would, then it wouldn't, then I need to apply to find out. Gee thanks. Not only that, but the equivilency table is useless for me because I'm an out of state military student! So I think I will just do General Chem 2 this summer just in case it doesn't transfer.

Ok y'all so just to clarify... We would start this fall and be done May 2016?

Ok, all ready to submit...but I have a dumb question. When it says our essays are limited to the spaces provided, how long were y'all's responses? My browser may be weird, because it will shrink the text down to unreadable and fit entire pages of text

@ratlady-if I get accepted I'm going to send them an email about some of my courses. I went to A&M and will have 104 hours after this semester and I'd be extremely upset if I have to take anymore considering I'm still unsure of their policy regarding maximum hrs until out of state tuition applies. Good luck on your petition.

@Saucynat-yes, I'm almost certain that this is a full two year program with summers off. I don't know about y'all but I would prefer the break and taking things by stride than to do it all at once.

@Badgerb0y- I didn't want to risk it and made mine fit the box without it getting smaller. It didn't make sense to me to go beyond that cause then you could make it as long as you want. Also keep in mind that your supplementary app only counts as 1%.

I had the same issue...I kept my responses to around 200 words or so...that kept it reasonably easy to read...

Mine were probably around 250 words. Nothing too crazy.

Has anyone who's submitted their application and residency questionnaire gotten a confirmation email (other than the auto confirmation that your application payment was accepted)?

I only received the payment confirmation...I did make sure to ask if the electronic signature was acceptable on my email though...I just wanted to make sure...hopefully I'll hear back on that quickly...I'll let y'all know, I know I wasn't the only one who did that.

How did everyone do their "Essay" questions? Full on essay style or sort of listing out the responses? I just did mine resume' style and my husband just pointed out/reminded me that it does say "essay". UGH! :wacky:

Okay im ready to submit now do you pay the app fee before submitting or email everything first
