Finally! I have been looking on Allnurses for someone to start a thread for fall 2016 and never could find one. Then I tried to start one myself and no one ever replied back. Lol. Then I thought I would try one last time. Thanks for the reply. Well, how are you feeling about applying? I am trying not to freak out, but sometimes I do anyway. I have been working towards this for so long I can't believe I am about to click the submit button.
Yes, same here. For me it is my only BSN option. The others are either too expensive or lost their accreditation. I am not a traditional student (hubby, kids, in my 30s) so it took me 4 years to get all my prerequisites. My plan "B" is Baptist. I saw they have an excellent NCLEX pass rate, but I have worked so hard to get into a BSN, I would just hate to go the ASN route.
I was wondering how you approached the achievements, references, experience section of the application. It seems so broad and also seems optional. That is the only section I need to fill out on my application.
Just a FYI, I emailed the admissions office asking specifically about the achievements, references, experience portion of the application. I did so on Friday so I am hoping by Tuesday they inform me. If they don't get back to me by Tuesday, Wednesday I am going try to call them. When I find out the answer I will let you know.
My GPA is a 3.87. Not sure what my official Math/Science GPA is, but when I use an online calculator it shows 3.88. My Teas score is 82.7. I messed up my time while doing the math section and had to zoom through the last half of the test in 15 min. How is yours?
I loath the TEAS. Grrr. That test gave me so much worry. My poor family. Lol. I also asked the admissions office in my email what was the percentage for each criteria they look at? Example, how much are the teas, science gpa, cumulative gpa, etc worth to the admissions process? They use to have it up on their website but I noticed the numbers are not stated anymore. Wondering if they changed how things are weighted. I would love if they put more weight in the gpa. Your gpa is good.
A person on the thread started by the fall of 2015 applicants brought this up as well and wondered if uthsc changed their criteria. Another person chimed in and said that at an information session she attended they stated that they are going to change the percentage of the criteria starting in the year 2016, which of course is now. I just read this last night, let me see if I can find the thread. I could only imagine that they up the gpa and lower the teas bc for the teas to go up any further would be silly to me. It might have been the spring of 2016 applicants. ugh. I can't remember now.

Let me try one more time. Anyone out there applying to UTHSCSA for the fall of 2016? The deadline is getting closer. How is everybody feeling? As for me I am a nervous wreck. I have taken my TEAS and completed all the courses. I am about finished with the application and I am just ready to know either way.
