Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello, everyone!

I haven't seen a thread yet for UT Health Science Center at San Antonio's Fall 2021 Nursing Program Applicants. I thought it would be nice to get to know other students and to update each other during the process since I've heard it can take a while.

Good luck to everyone who applied!

I’m hoping we hear back sometime this week ughh the wait is killing me!

The UT office and said it should be sometime this week.  The latest would be 21st.

Specializes in CNA/Medical-Surg. Tech.

Has anyone received any emails yet?

Congratulations! I got my acceptance letter at 3:31pm too!

Hello, I got my acceptance letter roughly around 3:24 pm today. Congrats to yall aswell

My overall GPA was a 3.723

Math/Science was a   4.000

My both essays were average, I did make it super personal on why I chosed nursing.

On the interview, I'll be honest I would rate myself a 4/10 because you could tell that I was nervous, I was stuttering, I didn't quite answer the question fully as I should have, but I made the attempt. I am so grateful that UTHSCSA gave me the oppurtunity. Ever since that interview, I had a hunch I wasn't going to get accepted because of my poor interview.

Congrats! Looking foward to starting this nursing journey with y’all!

Me too on everything you just said! Congratulations!

Hey everyone!! I’m so excited for everyone who got it! And for those who didn’t this round I wish you good luck in the future!!

I got accepted and wanted to share my stats to encourage future applicants!
Cumulative GPA: 2.94

Prerequisite GPA: 3.37

I found my passion for nursing my junior year of college and couldn’t internally transfer because it was too late, so I graduated this past semester from UT Austin with a biology degree. Although I have a low GPA compared to others who have been accepted, I believe UTHSCSA does a good job of reviewing applicants holistically! I did research at UT in three different labs, worked at UT Health Austin, had an internship with UT’s School of Nursing, CNA certification, Spanish medical interpreter certification, was a part of two organizations, all while working a part time job throughout college!

If you have a low GPA, don’t be discouraged! Make up for it in other areas and be passionate, the school will definitely notice! Goodluck to all future applicants and congratulations to everyone who got in!
