UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020

UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020

Updated:   Published

I thought I'd start this feed now. I applied in January. I know I'm early but I'm not much of a procrastinator. I just retook my Hesi and got a 89.2.. I feel I need to take it over but, some people are saying they don't even know UT's selection process. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

Hi guys! I recently got my acceptance for TWU Spring 2020 and there is an acceptance deadline of Nov. 8. I am conflicted on what to do since UTHealth still hasn’t sent out acceptance letters and has until the 15th. Any advice? Or does anyone know if the acceptance letters have already gone out and I just didn’t get one? Lol.

Acceptances and waitlist have gone out for UT!

So if we haven’t gotten any news, so you think we will most likely be denied? ?

Do you think there won't be anymore acceptances/waitlists that will go out. TBH it doesn't seem like it bc no one has really said they have gotten any after that

Will I at least get a formal denial? Is there a way to check on my account? When I log in, it still says under review or something like that.

Ugh I am a little upset. ? I worked so hard and got really good grades. 4.0 on all my GPA’s and got all A’s on my HESI except the A&P section which was an 84. So overall of 90.

Do y’all think I should reapply for summer or just accept TWU offer?

@nvences @sunnysun @Taylor16 from my past experience with UT once acceptances and waitlist went out the rest were denied. For Fall I didn't get my denial until 2 weeks after acceptance went out.

TWU was my first choice so I may be biased, but if you start TWU for spring you'll graduate December 2021, if you get into UT for summer you would graduate August 2021, but if you dont get into UT for summer and apply to TWU again for fall you're pushing your graduation to May 2022.

All of these school's teach the same curriculum, they are roughly 1% different in their passing rates for the NCLEX and when you graduate from any of them you will be an RN, BSN no matter what! No one school is better than the other, idc what anyone tries to say lol. I say go with the school who accepted you now and acknowledged your worth, but really you should go with YOUR gut!

Hey Taylor, I think you should go with TWU bcos it’s also a really good school and it’s also in the Texas medical center, so it’s a win win. At the end of it all we all become RNs

Also don't let UT denying you get you down. I have higher stats than quite a few people who have posted that they were accepted. UT is very hush hush about how they select their applicants, so we will never understand. Take your good grades and hardwork to TWU proudly and kick nursing school's butt!!

Thanks for the advice! I will most likely accept the offer. I am relieved I at least got into one.

Yea, and don't let that one school hold you back a semester when you already have a golden ticket in your hand. Even more so, since you haven't received anything from UT. Congrats..

@BlondeBSNHopefulWell said! @Taylor16I honestly think you should accept TWU first instead of waiting for UT and end up loosing both! TWU is also a great school, and I honestly did not apply to their nursing program because I didn't want to take TEAS, lol! Please, go for it! You may also opt out if UT eventually accepts you, and that's if you Reeeeeeaally want to attend UT...right? ?
