Hey everyone!
I just wanted to open a topic for everyone who will be applying/has applied for the 2017 spring start for the BSN program. I am taking my HESI in a little over 2 weeks and I'm just really nervous about it. I will also be sending in my application shortly after I take the test. I know, I know...very close timing! I am just finishing up a full semester and wanted to make sure that I gave my GPA as much of a boost as possible. I will be applying with an overall GPA of 3.5 and a science GPA of 4.0, as well as one consideration. I would love any advice people have on taking my HESI or just overall nursing school advice. :) Thanks in advance.
Hello everyone, anyone hear anything about waitlist calls? I have been waitlisted for both AO & On campus. I see from previous years that they wait a couple weeks-1 month to start calling people off the waitlist, all the way to 1 week before semester start. However, I was wondering if anyone heard anything yet. I got into other programs, but UTA was my first pick...suspense sucks. I wish they would publish or let people know how many seats they normally hold on the waitlist, to have an idea. Anyway, good luck everyone!
Hey John I'm not really sure how long they take, but I've also heard that they can call you a week before the semester! Congrats getting into the other programs! Which ones are they? If you don't mind me asking. I'm looking at other options also, but UTA is my 1st. Do the other schools give you enough time to make a choice on accepting their offer?
Hi Aimeyh, I got into TCC and last minute changed my mind on applying to TWU, so actually just TCC as of now. Yes, TCC gives you plenty of time to accept, but then again, that's why each school has the waitlist concept...many students apply elsewhere, and if they decide to cancel later on, the school can still fill the seat with the waitlist candidates. I was trying to do some research on UTA to see if I could find any data (I'm big on data/numbers and research), but there isn't any...they keep a tight lid on it. I was just wondering if anyone knows approximately how many seats UTA averages each semester on the waitlist...and when do those fill...like say, the week after the deadline to reply? the week after the drop date for patho/pharm? ...there seems to be no data on this. I wish schools would be a little more transparent on this so potential students could plan, make better informed decisions, etc.
I am wondering myself. There's a huge issue with Blackboard right now, and all the grades are screwed up. They professors can't submit final grades...so I think that will therefore put a delay on knowing which people have passed/failed Patho/Pharm, and thus if and how many seats will "open up" from those already admitted, making room for the waitlisted folks. Soooo...we will see. I would imagine we should find out or at least those at the top of the list should get calls within 1-2 weeks...but I have no idea. I am wondering myself if I will get a call or not, and it's very nerve wrecking because it's messing up my schedule with the other school I got into the program at...I wish I would just find out and get it over with already..as there are so many things we need to do to prepare before starting the semester in Jan. Good luck everyone!

I'm currently finishing up all my Lower Division science pre-reqs. After this semester I will only need Micro and then the 3 Pre-nursing classes. I plan on taking Micro for winter-mester.I talked to an advisor over the summer but she was fairly new to the department. I am wondering when would be the best time to start studying for the HESI and to apply?
