Alas! Here I go again! This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!
Wow I thought we had a long wait. TWU took about 2 months and TCC took a month. It will all be worth it once you get your letters. I got accepted into an ADN prgram and am on the waitlist at TCC.
I violate one of the program's stipulations so they won't even look at my app.
good luck to all of you waiting!!
Did everyone here complete Chemistry at UTA? I know it says if chemistry is in two sections both must be completed to complete the chemistry requirement. So if I were to take both chemistry, the requirement of 12 science credits still stands for admissions right? Also I read some terrible things about the Chem online at UTA, is it really difficult?
I am not too sure about this one. You might need to check with an advisor. I read this more essentially as 3 out of the 4 sciences must be completed. So if Chem is 2 sections, then you will need both completed as well as 2 of out of A & P I & 2 and Micro. In essence, you would technically end up with 20 hours of science due to Chem being in 2 parts. When I took Chem a few years back, it was in 2 sections, so that is the way it is with me.
I did not take Chem through UTA, but I, too, have heard awful things about it. You might want to look into community college for this one. Another college has been mentioned for their online version, but I cannot recall the name of it.
i also heard back from my advisor. she told me a website i can go to to calculate it (which still doesn't help--you would think they would have this info specifically listed on our file evaluation, but whatever). re: hesi submission dates, i am c & p her response below.
regarding the hesi scores:
the deadlines to submit your hesi a2 scores for the bsn and ap bsn programs has changed to the following:
[color=#0067b2]hesi a2 deadlines
fall entry: november 1 (prior to january deadline)
spring entry: april 1 (prior to june deadline)
this is the new deadline to submit your hesi a2 scores going forward. we realize that many students have scheduled their hesi a2 tests based on the former deadlines; therefore we will be flexible in enforcing this deadline for fall and spring applicants. if you are a bsn applicant for fall 2012 or spring 2013, you must have your hesi a2 scores submitted to the college of nursing no later than the application deadline.
Hi all, i took a hiatus after becoming discouraged. This blog has prepared me mentally for that rejection letter. Let me just say that am ready for that rejection letter. When i read that the hesi deadline was Nov 1 i was devastated.UTA should clearly let aspiring students know that their program is exclusively for partnered applicants and not waste people's time and money on taking their classes. I graduated from UTA in 2006 and this school treats applicants as if we don't have better things to do other than bother them. Good luck to all, for aspiring students look elsewhere and invest your resources in other schools. FYI i met a student in the ap program who told me that she would be at her clinicals and there would be no professor there, sounds to me like disorganization, but i still wonna join lol!
winn2012 - Just FYI, you can still apply. Note the disclaimer after the mention of new deadlines:
"This is the new deadline to submit your HESI A2 scores going forward. We realize that many students have scheduled their HESI A2 tests based on the former deadlines; therefore we will be flexible in enforcing this deadline for Fall and Spring applicants. If you are a BSN applicant for Fall 2012 or Spring 2013, you must have your HESI A2 scores submitted to the College of Nursing no later than the application deadline."
All this time, i've been waiting for November 1st because thats what I was told when we should be getting the letters! Now, I don't know what date to wait for. I guess it will be this week or next week or the next?
I am getting way too antsy!
What has academic partnership (AP) that applied this spring? I wonder how many applied?
I applied for the Accelerated Second Degree BSN and have partnership with Children's Med Center.

what a bummer! why is it so difficult and such a circus to get letters out? It would be nice to get them earlier so you know how to plan next semesters classes. its funny how some schools take only 3 months to make decisions and UTA takes over 5 months. I guess I will just assume later than sooner so I can stop obsessing over it...
Thanks for the info!
