UTA PMHNP Spring 2022

Hi there, I have been accepted, and am about to accept their acceptance! I had read a few things online that made me question the education and reputation of UTA, so I've been a bit hesitant. There are some really mixed reviews, mostly students who either loved it, or think it's OK, to prior preceptors and employers shunning UTA PMHNP grads. This was kind of shocking to me, to say the least, but I wonder if there had been some personal bias to their thought process in the students they had dealt with. Have you heard anything either way about that?

I still think I would like to start and see for myself. I really am excited to start learning, and furthering myself, and do love the campus-based aspect. I would like to join the FB group, too!

I have heard the exact same things! I have reached put to a few people that have graduated or currently attending UTA and they seemed pleased with the program. I have had coworkers in the past who have graduated from UTA and have found gainful employment and said they were pleased.

Hi I know this thread is old! However I'm starting this fall 2023 in the pmhnp core classes. It says hybrid. Just curious how many times y'all met throughout the semester and on what days? Thanks for any info you may be able to provide! I'm a planner and just want to have a general idea of what to expect! :)

have you started the program already? I spoke directly to the program instead of the advisors and received very different information. I wanted to confirm with those who have started if it is indeed hybrid. I was informed the program is typically 3.5 years if your doing a full load each semester. I was informed some courses are only offered once a year and has caused some students to sit out until they are offered again. for the core psych classes, you meet generally once a month but this is based on the teaching format of the instructor. I was told this is brick and mortar program and hybrid is not guaranteed, and at the discretion of the teacher for the specific course on how they would like to teach it (online, inperson, hybrid). for the MSN portion, you meet twice a week if your unable to register a MSN course that is in the online format. I have a friend who started in the online FNP program, and is switching over to the pmhnp program. they only allow one switch, and this was how she was able to achieve doing the MSN courses all online. any information will be greatly appreciated from those who has started the UTA PMHNP program and if you were able to register all your courses either online or hybrid.
