UTA-FNP Spring 2018

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello all! Do I have any fellow nursing friends who have applied for the MSN, FNP program at UTA - Spring 2018. I turned my application in the first part of September. I am very nervous! I am wondering what GPA they take and when do they notify candidates?

You'll still graduate with your MSN, you'll still be able to sit for boards...BUT you will have a LOT of difficulty finding preceptors and if you have questions on assignments or require clarification on anything, you'll have difficulty getting answers in a timely fashion. Too many cohorts and way too many students in each. They're raking $$ in. I have no doubt you'll get in though! ;)

This is true. Did you pick another online FNP program? What did you choose if you don't mind me asking. ? I need help. I have researched so many I'm going cross eyed.

I’m currently 1 year down in the fnp uta online program. It’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be. It’s time consuming but honestly if u put In the work you will do just fine. And the coaches and professor responds in a timely manner...plus I have got to know ppl taking the same classes and formed a study group so it helps a lot! I haven’t reached the point of starting clinicals just yet but I will start looking early. Hope this helps!

Does anyone have the practice quizzes for pharm they wouldn’t mind emailing?

How is the fnp at Arlington

I feel like if you have a checkbook, you'll get in. I transferred out after my first semester - and I know many others who did the same.

Hi! May I ask why? I'm currently at Walden U but just got into this program.

I am currently a UTA RN-BSN student and am set to begin the UTA FNP program in Spring 2021. I am trying to choose between this and another program. (I will already have take the theories & research courses by the time I begin the MSN)

What has been your experience in the program so far?

Are there instructional PowerPoints or is it mostly them throwing articles at you and saying, "hey, read these and take the test"?

Is it mostly self-taught?

Are the teachers responsive or helpful if you have questions?

Does the program mostly consist of writing papers or mostly exams?

Do they still require the use of webcams for exams?

Do you feel prepared for clinical?

I did my BSN at uta and the fnp program is just like the BSN. A lot of assignments and you learn on your own. Only difference is a few video assignments. I think I would have learned more in another program. Starting clinical soon so hope by the end I’ll feel more confident.
