UTA FNP program online

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Hi all! I applied to UTA FNP online program for the November 2014 start date. Anyone else out there applied or going through the program now? Looking to get some reviews on the program and admissions process. and just talk to those who are waiting on an admissions decision like myself! THANKS

Hi everyone! I just got accepted for May 2015 start and is debating between UTA and Chamberlain. How is the school load manageable while working full time 3 12's night time and taking two classes at the same time? I want to be able to finish as soon as possible! I received my RN to BSN through them and doubled on classes as well and found it manageable. After reading some previous post....what is the camera for? Is it for examination proctoring? Any insight would be great thank you!!

I obtained my BSN with UTA as well and this program is much more time intensive. A couple of the classes you could take together but I would definately not take patho with anything else. If you want to have an idea of what some of the class load looks like pm me your email and I will send you the syllabus for pharm that I just completed. And the camera is because you have to be recorded for your exams.

Hi Annie-m,

Which classes can you take together? How intense is the program load? Are you taking two classes at a time? Are you about to work full time? I was accepted for the May start date also.

You can either do two classes or one at a time. I am only doing one at a time as I work full time and have 3 kids. The classes continue to be either 5 or 10 week courses. They do not cut you any slack on the amount of information that you must know. If you look on the uta website for the college of nursing you should be able to look up most of the syllabus online.

I just finished pharmacology and would have been hard pressed to do that class with another. You had to read a minimum of 90 pages a week but most times it was 150. You also had two discussion board post a week, with sources, a case study or a Rx module to complete. And there was either a weekly quiz or major test.

Thank you so much for the information and perspective. I have two smaller children, working full-time, and school. How was the nursing research class and do you have any studying advice! Any help would be greatly appreciated í ½í¸„

Does anyone have any recent news on this program? I've heard it's excessively and unnessarily difficult. And does it actually look any better than any other online program (i.e. Chamberlain and Frontier)? Thank you for any responses!

After having a hard time trying to pass assessment I switched to the on campus option. When I did this and had to retake the same class due to dropping it the first time I did notice that tuition for that class was $1000 more. It was a 4 hour class.

In your honest opinion would you recommend UTA's FNP program. I am starting to hear more and more negative things about the structure of the program and the increasing amount of "busy" work.

I would recommend the on campus program just not the online portion. The on campus program is really good. I feel like I have learned so much more this semester going to class.
