Nursing Students Texas (UTA)
Published Nov 7, 2012
I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

She didn't put in the letter grade yet has she? I actually made the same grade on my pharm final as I made on my patho final.
She posted my final letter grade on blackboard
I can't remember who it was, but someone has asked about the HEP vaccines in a previous post. I went to get vaccinated today and was told that you can do a "fast track" version of the HEP vaccine... you get one shot right away, the next shot a week later, and the third shot during days 21 - 30 (any of those days.) The catch is, you have to repeat it the following year. Still beats not being vaccinated in time for clinicals. I asked the nurse if this method was acceptable by nursing programs, and she said that most schools prefer it. I guess I should check with my advisor, but I don't see why it would matter as long as our records indicate we had all three shots...

I'm good for Hep B; shot 3 in June. I hadn't realized we needed Hep A was needed. The lady at the school said as long as you were in process you would be fine.

Oh, ok. Good to know! Thanks. I was looking at all of the documentation, but I did not see any info pertaining to vaccinations other than the list of vaccinations in the welcome letter.

I just found out that I got into AP Fall 2013 program but am not currently partnered with any hospital. I'm in Arlington for classes here at UTA, but was hoping to move back to Houston. Is anyone else in this situation? Do you have a choice as to which hospital you can choose to participate in clinicals? Any advice will be extremely helpful. Thanks!
HiSame here hoping for something not too far off. Can I PM you? Have some questionsThanks

I'm also from Houston. It would be awesome if we were in the same cohort!

I also live in Houston. I think hospitals are assigned, not positive though.
