UTA AP Spring 2015 Applicants AWAITING ACCEPTANCE

Published

Specializes in Clinic Nursing.

Hello All,

I wanted to start a topic for all UTA (University of Texas at Arlington) Academic Partnership Spring 2015 applicants. I submitted my application prior to June 1, 2014 deadline date. I am very excited and ready to get started. I applied and was not accepted for the Fall 2014;due to finishing up my pre-reqs. I hope this site will be a great place to post our acceptance news and more regarding the UTA AP BSN program. If you have any stories to share regarding; GPA news, what do you know that worked in the past, partnered students and their GPA's... etc. Any information you can share, that will help relieve the panic and calm my nerves until we receive news from the school.

Thanks again fellow students. I appreciate any information you are able to provide.

FINGERS CROSSED!!! My eyes are crossed as well..... ;)

Hello.

This is my first time applying to UTA, and I am currently waiting for my letter. I just found out that I was not accepted to another school that I applied to (due to mis-calulations of GPA). I am finishing up my pre-reqs now for UTA. I am currently taking Pharm, Patho, Texas Politics, and US Government (all at UTA). Did you take any classes at UTA prior to applying? If so, how were they for you?

Please post if you hear anything back about your acceptance.

Hello!

I applied for the APBSN Spring 2015 entry as well and this is my first application. I completed most of the prerequisites at TCC except for the 4 classes that needs to be taken at UTA. I took Medical Terminology & Intro to Nursing during the Summer and I'm currently enrolled in Patho & Pharm. I do have a pretty competitive GPA in overall & the science portion but my HESI score could use some improvement since I scored an 88. I don't have any considerations but I am partnered through HCA. Like you, I'm starting to get nervous about the acceptance letter but I'm trying not to think about it too much. I wish you both the best of luck! I will make sure to post once I get my letter :)

Hello! I was just wondering if you got your letter the other week? I was put in the wait list, and now I'm nervous about that. I had made plans to move at the end of the year and if I don't get it I'll have to change my plans (agghhh)! This wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't uprooting my family and it was just me. So, right now I'm trying to score really well in my pre req classes.

I got a call today from uta. They offered me a place in the 2015 spring ap BSN program. I accepted.

Good luck to y'all! Hopefully you will here something soon.

That's great news, jolamo04! I'm on the wait list too. Would you mind sharing your stats? Did you have any considerations?

I was wait listed as well. This is my third time applying and third wait list response. I strongly believe partnership is the key to acceptance!! I've received a call every time after being wait listed with news of acceptance but due to their errors I have then been told no sorry you're wait listed again! They for some reason keep thinking I'm partnered with hospitals, which I am not! So needless to say if I had been partnered I would of been accepted every time!

You must have applied for the wrong program? They have different ones. The AP BSN is partnership. You need to apply for the non AP one.

I was wait listed 3 times as well.

Yes I applied for the partnership one, it's the only online one they offer. They accept those partnered first and then those not partnered. So you are partnered?

Oh. I've never heard of them accepting anyone who is not partnered. I've been partnered the whole time and still been wait listed 3 times.

I am partnered as well and got accepted to the APBSN Spring 2015 program. As far as I know, the APBSN is not limited to students who are partnered with a hospital system. In fact, I know a couple of people who got in without the partnership but you have to have a really strong GPA and HESI scores along with considerations. When I was filling out my acceptance form, there is a ranking system for the students who aren't partnered to choose which clinical site they prefer. Hope this helps :)

The partnership does help your chances of getting into the program but your GPA & HESI scores still needs to be competitive. Each hospital system is only allowed a certain number of seats, mine only has 10 per cycle, and the ranking system still applies even if you are partnered.
