Nurses Residency

Hi! I just got an offer and I will be starting this October. Does anyone know if UTSW offers relocation bonus and what their differential is? I should've asked but I didn't.

Hello, I received an offer from UTSW for their critical care residency. I haven't heard anything about relocation assistance, but the diffs I received were $3.00 for the 2nd shift, $4.00 for the 3rd shift, and $5.50 for weekends.

When did you get the critical care offer? Are you starting October? I'm just a bit confused with their diff system so is 2nd shift from 3pm-11pm and 3rd shift from 11pm-7am?

About 2-3 weeks ago! Yes, I am, I just recently received an offer for BUMC for the same unit, and BUMC is paying more and offering relocation assistance so I am now conflicted! UT was always my 1st choice, but BUMC is being generous with me!

2nd= clock out after 5:07pm then pays from 2:45pm

3rd= clock out after 3:07am then pays from 10:45pm

Congratulations you got offers from both! I knew BUMC has better differentials but it's great that they offer relocation bonus. I interviewed with them too but didn't get the job :(. Oh and also, after you accepted the offer with UT, has your recruiter asked for your references or has scheduled you for pre-employment health screening? I was just wondering because I haven't done anything other than accepting the job offer and doing like the 17 tasks.

I'm a Feb 2022 resident and an internal hire.... I'm guaranteed hours (compared to other hospitals that will send you home for low census)...  I also enjoy my Free health insurance (cheaper affordable price if you have family or children under you).

When pandemic hit we still had our hours and our hospital didn't fire or lay off ANYONE. Baylor and lots of other hospitals let go/cut a lot of their employees.
