UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Just checked my portal and it still says under review.

Hoping denials aren't scattered too

hi, guys. I have never had a facebook account, so please don't be alarmed when I request to join the group with like 0 friends.

I’m literally the same way. You’re good! ?

Is the Facebook page beneficial for anything school related? Or is it just to get to know everyone? Is it used during nursing school? I don't know if I should make an account because I don't have social media.

I don’t have social media either and I think it’s very beneficial to just make an account bc she’s already posted some of the important forms that we will need to fill out. Plus it’s always nice to get to know your classmates too! ?

Hey everyone, So I got accepted around 2pm Wednesday of this week.

I have been peeking this forum the last 2 weeks or so anxiously awaiting the results. Finally it is over.

Hello Everyone!

I'm Rachel! I just got accepted to the Summer 2019 term two days ago. Also congratulations on everyone else! I am both excited and a little frightened. I have three holds now on my accounts. First, we need to verify our identity in person in order to have access to the MyUTH portal. It says that we can verify it on the day of orientation. Does anyone know when it's the orientation? I also have to submit my immunization records twice separately. I notice the immunization requirement on the AppyUTH only has Hep B, Tdap, Meningitis, Chicken Pox, MMR, TB skin test. Does everyone have the same as me??? I did my immunizations back in 2017. I had immunity for all of them. But wonders do I have to do it again, or just give them 2017 records.

And another immunization hold requires you to submit records on the E-value website. I saw the requirement for that also requires Hep C. So we need to get that as well? I'm a little lost. Hoping someone can help me with it.

Also has anyone dones the CPR lesson? I heard we need to pass that as well. Any recommended class to go?

And nice to meet you Kelsey!!!! So glad someone with experience can help!! Hope you can give some advices for me. I'm really scared to start class in May. Are the courses super difficult? Any study tips?

Hi Rachel a friend of mine that started in the spring semester told me to go to the schools clinic with all your immunization paperwork and they'll give you any boosters/titer tests you need. that they'll know what you need :) she also said to park in the UT physicians garage and the clinic is right next to it. she also told me to do this ASAP because it takes a while to review everything and get the hold removed, so do not wait until last minute. She also said orientation should be in about a month (about 6 weeks before classes begin).

Just got my waitlist email...again! Wahoo

Just saw my denial, although I was hopeful this is not the end all. I want to congratulate EVERYONE both accepted and denied, because the accepted are blessed with this opportunity and the denied (including me) are blessed to find out where our adventure will begin elsewhere. Remember everything happens for a reason and we may never know what that reason is.
