UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Hi guys this is my first time applying to UTH, I have a general question about applying to multiple nursing schools. I noticed that the result date is April 15, but for TWU/UTMB fall semester it's March 15. UTH is the preferred school I'd like to go to but Im afraid of how competitive it is (my stats aren't terrible, don't worry). I was wondering if it's possible to approve the acceptance from TWU/UTMB then if I get accepted to UTH accept as well and drop the previous. Is that a possibility or am I bound to the programs with a earlier result date forever? I would assume there is a fee at least.

Another girl on here recently accepted her spot at UTHealth and relinquish her spot she previously accepted at UTMB. Check the recent Spring UTMB and UTHealth forums.

Did they mention how many students they're accepting summer semester? 120/600? That's intimidating :(

Yes they're accepting the same amount of students as the fall and spring semester which is around 120

Congratulations on your acceptance! I am extremely nervous, and if you don't mind me asking what were your stats? I like to get a comparison to see where I stand.

Hello Everyone I plan on taking HESI in January 2019 this will be my second time taking it. What materials did you guys use to study for the HESI A2, also how long did you guys study for before you took the HESI Test, also have any you taken the TEAS before, how would you compare the HESI to the TEAS thank you.

I studied casually with the Pocket Prep app for about a year. I hardcore studied with the Elsevier book, my A&P notes, and any information I could find on social media / forums for about 2 or 3 weeks before the test.

Does anyone know if you can submit transcripts after the deadline? I have a class where I won't have my final grade until a few days after the deadline, I'm wondering if I can still submit the transcript as long as I've completed the rest of the app? I may call to ask but I hate to ask for an exception to the rules because i feel like it looks bad lol

I would just email them and ask. Do you know what electives they usually accept?

Thank you.

Ive read they accept anything as an elective that isn't one of the core courses. So if you took public speaking or math they'll accept it as an elective. They mention in the webinar they will select your best gradedcl courses to fulfill the requirement. I think they may have said though that they don't accept physical fitness classes.

Is it mandatory that you at least have 8 science credits? And which classes are considered the science credits? Thanks!

Yes, it is mandatory.

You can apply with 8, but have to have all 16 completed by the start of the semester you apply for. The 16 total science hours required are:

AP 1 4hrs

AP 2 4hrs

Chemistry 4hrs

Microbiology 4hrs
