UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

I didn't receive mine at all ?

Let’s just hope there were no errors on your transcript. As long as it was done correctly I’m sure you have nothing to worry about. You have really great stats!! Good luck to all of us we are so close to finding out.

There shouldn't be, I received it last semester with no errors. Thanks for the words of encouragement! And yes good luck to all of us ?

Oh well then you got this!!!! I’m over here trying to not obsess lol

Okay y’all I have a question and I need y’all honest opinions. Would u rather pay more in rent and be closer to the medical center or would u rather pay less and be further away.

For example:

Apartment A - 5 minutes from uthealth $800-900/month

Apartment B - 20 minutes from uthealth $400-500/month

Hypothetically, if you had to pick, would u pick A or B?

I would pick B and use that extra money for tuition or utilities. But if you’re good in the money department then it just comes down to what will be more comfortable for you ?

I agree with asalinas I would also pick B. I figure it’s an extra 400 to 500 your saving and your only 15 extra minutes away. That could go super far. That could be used for books or tuition or anything else you may need. I know that many people can’t work while going to nursing school so that’s extra money for all your different necessities.

With the difference being nearly half, I would say option B. If it were $100-$200 difference I'd say option A but that difference is substantial!

Keep traffic in mind! I'd still ride out the traffic but I know some people who would go with apartment A because of it.

Very true! I Didn’t think about that.

I keep getting these "Congrats" or "Good News" emails and I get excited then quickly realize they are from Old Navy and other stores I've subscribed to. Im going to have a heart attack before I even find out if I made it or not!!! Longest couple day ever!!!!

I’ve officially hit rock bottom.. I called student affairs and asked when the admissions committee is meeting and she told me we won’t know until April 15th. I know that’s probably not correct from previous forums but it’s definitely not something I wanted to hear. Can u imagine having to wait an extra month???
