Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!
I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.
Stats:
HESI Overall: 92.4
Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88
Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Cumulative GPA: 3.41
My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!
I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).
Hello everyone I hope all is well, what class did you guys use for Electives, I used Abnormal Psychology will that work ?
Hello daphane! I believe they will accept anything that is not being used to satisfy any of the prerequisites. However, they will not accept a P.E. Course.
I think they may just be a bit behind getting transcripts and what not in. I have email confirmations of my school sending my electronic transcripts last week, but they haven't come off my to do list yet! My to do list also still says things are due 3/15 even though the site said 1/15!
As far as lack of activity, i think it's due to allnurses being down and the holidays keeps everyone pretty busy!
My stats aren't the "best." I have a 3.4 prereq and 3.0 science, I'm taking AP II, Micro, and Psych stats this semester so those GPAs should go up. Got an 88 overall hesi an 84 in AP and 94 in vocab. I'm proud of my numbers because I have busted my ass going to night classes and just did a minimester. Just hoping it's enough on paper to convince them to give me a chance!

Hey BlondeBSN I know what you mean as far as not having the best numbers . From what I’ve calculated I have a 3.25 science, 3.5 nursing, and a 3.3 cumulative. I’m currently taking Texas Government, Federal Government, Chemistry, Nutrition, and English 2 to finish off my prerequisites in case I get in for summer. My HESI is a 91.6 average but an 80 in A&P so I know that’s not so great. But like you said nothing left to do but wait and see. Fingers crossed for us all!!
I’m gonna have to call the Help Desk because I still cannot log in ? I’ve changed my password two or three times, and it still says invalid when I go to sign in. Annoying!
That happened to me as well and the Help Desk helped me quickly!
I guess they must be overwhelmed with transcripts. I have two confirmation emails for electronic transcripts being sent, but my application isn't updated yet I hate that my minimester was almost to the cut off, I'm way more punctual than this ya'll lol
BlondeBSN when did your minimester finish? I ask because I feel as though I’m guna be in a similar situation with my spring semester if i end up getting accepted to UTH for the summer semester. My spring classes has finals week from the 6th of May until the 12th and I’m worried that my final transcript won’t get update in time for me to get it to UTH before the start of summer classes. Obviously this is a premature concern because I don’t even know if i will get in lol but I am worried about it.
My minimester ended January 11th, but I did let my professor know that I would appreciate his urgency in posting my final grade so I could get my transcript sent ASAP. However, it was HCCs transcript office that took longer to get my transcript sent due to some confusion in their office. It was finally sent on 1/14. If you let your professors know you have a strict deadline I'm sure they will work with you! I think I saw the summer semester starts 5/20, so just make sure your prof posts your grades and the transcipt office sends them ASAP! I even had to pay for a priority shipping label for one of my transcripts to NursingCAS for another school
Heyyy ok yea I will definitely let them know that I have a deadline to meet if I get in lol I had originally contacted someone at Lonestar, where I’m taking my prerequisites, and they didn’t seem to be really sure if the professors would be able to expedite them but I’ll for sure at least try to ask them. Has anyone received a transcript evaluation by chance? I obsessively check my mailbox everyday lol
Yea I would just speak to your professor directly, and if they do post it early for you then reach out to your registrar to expedite the process! I did get one, but it was back in December and it was before my minimester and fall transcript was sent. I doubt I'll get an additional one unless I asked for it, but I see no point personally since I got the first one, I can calculate what the rest of my classes will add up to. I think you can reach out to their info email to see about getting one sent to you!
