UT Health Pacesetter BSN Spring 2018

Published

Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).

I'll start:

I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.

I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.

God bless.

I got accepted and here are my stats

OVERALL GPA 3.588

NURSING GPA 3.933

NURSING GPA 4.00

Reading 90

Grammar 92

Vocab 96

A&P 96

Math 88

HESI overall: 92.40

No degree at all. I work at a doctors office as a billing manager and I did not put that on my application. Not sure if it would had mattered.

I didn't think so either, given the limited amount of information allowed to disclose of ourselves in the application, but I was just curious. Thank you for sharing, and congratulations :)

First time posting. I also received my acceptance email at 4:33 pm. For those still waiting, don't give up. Thanks

Howdy! Just got accepted into the program as well! I will be relocating from College Station to Houston so if anyone wants to find housing near the Health Science Center and room together let me know! My email is [email protected]

Congrats and Good luck to everyone!

Well no email on my end. If things go like the last two times I should see a denial email in about a week.

I really hope you make it. :(

Anyone looking for a roommate? I live up in Fort Worth so I am going to have to move. [email protected] Email me!

My stats:

I haven't received my transcript evaluation, so I am not going to include my science GPA in my overall GPA just to make it easier.

Science GPA: 3.5

HESI: Overall: 91.6

Reading: 94

Grammar: 96

Vocab: 88

How do you have an overall GPA of 4.0, but a science GPA of 3.5?

Pretty soon after the acceptances started coming out my class made a Facebook group page and that's where a lot of people will talk about rooming together and about everything y'all will have coming. Also where you can get advice from upperclassman about what to do upcoming and what not to do (buy) lol. Just an idea if anyone wanted to start one!

Haha! I'll have to make a Facebook account

As I said at the beginning, I wasn't including my science GPA in my overall GPA.

Anyone have an idea of when the next wave of acceptances will be sent out?

Possibly in 10 days or as people decline admission offers if they decide to go to other schools? This is what it says in the email:

You will receive an email notification once your status has been updated in myUTH.* At that time you will have 10 calendar days to accept or decline the admission offer.

Anyone have an idea of when the next wave of acceptances will be sent out?

There will probably be another wave tomorrow honestly. But they also send out a waitlist top Before they send out the denials typically. The denials will probably come in about a week or so
