Hi samianquazi,
I applied to the UT AE MSN as well, Adult CNS option. Is this the same as what you are asking?

Yep! I applied to Family Psych/Mental Health NP :)
Well good luck to you! I'm nervous and excited. I was accepted into a TWU BSN program and found the UT program right before the start of school and dropped everything for it so I am hoping my risk-taking pans out. I'd rather have a master's degree. Do you know when we are supposed to hear from the school? I read February somewhere and March somewhere else (both on the website).
Oh wow! I know a TON of people here at Lone Star College who applied to TWU for a nursing degree. Don't you already have a Bachelor's degree? I didn't even know TWU had an accelerated BSN program.
well the graduate FAQ PDF said this:
"When are admission decisions sent out?
Applicants may expect to receive admission offers (or denials) by early March."
I kinda hope we find out earlier than that
Good luck to you, too!
Thanks! Yes I have a Bachelor's degree. Well TWU has gotten rid of their Accelerated BSN, practically overnight. I was accepted to the traditional one. And I hope we hear sooner than March. That's why I asked, hoping you heard sooner. I also saw that they have an Info session in January, but it seems that that wouldn't really be for us. Thanks! :)
I might inquire in January if I can interview for the program (assuming they hadn't invited me before).
Heck, that drive to Austin isn't bad either :)
Oh, and I'd forgotten to ask, did you finish all your prerequisite courses for this program? There's SO many!
i have to take genetics and pharm. all these programs have slightly different prereqs so otherwise i wouldn't need those two. i hope we get in without needing to be interviewed. oh and here is what i saw on the website
acceptance to graduate programs in nursing
the school of nursing graduate admissions committee may begin preliminary admission reviews as soon as an applicant’s file is complete; however, admission decisions are not made until after the december 1 application deadline. files that remain incomplete will not be reviewed nor acted upon by the committee. it is extremely important to have all required application materials submitted by the december 1 deadline.
applicants will be notified of their admission decision in early february and will receive two separate notices: (1) an unofficial letter from the school of nursing informing you of the committee’s decision, and (2) an official letter from the graduate and international admission center notifying you of the admission decision of the office of graduate studies. acceptance by both the school of nursing and the office of graduate studies is necessary before enrollment is permitted.

oooh, thanks for the information! early february is just what i wanted anyway
about genetics and pharmacology... way back in 2006, i took general biology i at lone star. and i got an email two weeks ago from the grad program coordinator that i won't need genetics because they'd accept biology as a substitute. have you asked and seen if you could take biology i instead?
i mean, i know they don't offer genetics everywhere.
where are you taking pharma at?
i'm taking it online next semester (:
Sorry samianquazi I couldn't find your post to reply sooner. I am taking Pharm online through ACC in Austin and Genetics online also through TCC in Fort Worth. I have still not heard. It's driving me nuts!!! :)
I'm going a bit bonkers too :/
