I hope that I will get accepted to the PMHNP, but per ----------------------, only 7 out of the 20 or so who interviewed will get accepted. I did the math and that's only a 35% acceptance rate ?
I am wondering if you have any idea of how they score candidates? Is more weight placed on the documents that we submitted before interviews or are interviews going to make or break us? I am not feeling too great about my interview performance... it wasn't terrible but wasn't my best interview.
So you think it would be okay for me to email ------------------------- and ask about LEADS maybe in a week or two or do you think they will let me know if it's an option? I don't want to annoy her but I also don't want to miss an opportunity to be considered for something.
To my understanding, you should have been given the option to defer to LeaDS already. Those who initially applied for another concentration and received the option to defer were required to submit a new statement of purpose specific to LeaDS and interview for it as well, considering the interviews for each concentration are very different. I haven’t heard of past years offering deferment after interviews and prior to decisions but maybe it’s worth a shot if you email ------------------------! Please keep us updated if you hear back! :))

“That is not an option. This option is afforded to AEMSN applicants due to the large number of NP applicants we receive in the AEMSN program. They are not deferred to the LeaDs, they are asked if they want to move their application. This occurs very early in the admissions process.
This is not an option for MSN who are already a RN.”

Sorry, I'm not sure how much weight they place on the interview or other items. I would guess that you don't have to have a perfect answer for every question though, especially what you want to do with the degree. I had a few ideas coming in that I mentioned during my interview, but it's also important to keep your mind open. The nursing profession has so many possibilities, and personally, I've discovered new interests since starting the program.

Oh I see, I didn't realize you were applying for the non-AE MSN and that the process is different for that group. Good luck!!
@Aatri My best guesses are that (1) people applying to the AE-MSN group are asked more questions because they don't have a background in nursing and/or (2) you answered multiple questions at once. For example, depending on how you respond to "tell us what brought you to nursing", you may answer some of the other questions they were planning to ask you. It's also possible that the interviewers prompt for questions differently.
There could be multiple reasons you had fewer questions compared to others. It's not necessarily related to how well the interview was going. ?

I was told they meet up around the end of January to make final decisions. An earlier email from ------------------- lists final review/decisions in Jan/Feb too. Based on past years it looks like decisions went out anywhere from late Jan-mid February.

It’s interesting because I saw in last year’s thread that they were given February 1st as the date they were to be sent admission decisions, but the school ended up pushing the date back because they were taking longer than expected. I’m wondering if that is why they didn’t give us a set date this cycle. I wish we had an idea of when because this is stressing me out ?
Hello, everyone--thanks so much for posting and all the helpful comments everyone has left. I've been feeling anxious as well! Any interest in a virtual coffee over Zoom sometime this week or next? My thought is it might be a way to support each other and make some connections, regardless of admissions decisions. If you're interested, please fill out the Google form and I can organize.
