Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard work, dedication and sacrifice do pay off. I wish you a happy and successful career.

...I have wanted to be a CRNA for about 9yrs now.

Congrats....I am sure you earned it.:yeah:

I should be driving to Alaska in about 2weeks. How is that for an adventure! I can't wait to get out of the DC area.

DC to Alaska? Better leave now....it may take two weeks at this time of the year. Should be an exciting adventure.

Specializes in NICU/PEDS.

Congrats, that's awesome!!!

Specializes in Anesthesia.

Yep, now my butt is freezing in Canada....2000 more miles to go and still heading further north for 2-3 more days.

We are pulling a U-haul trailer in our Dodge Durango 4-wheel drive with 3kids, my grandson, me and the wife in -13 Centigrade weather.....Why was this a good idea again?:lol2:

Specializes in L&D, mother/baby, antepartum.

Be careful out there! I hope you arrive with your sanity intact. It's going to be a great assignment for you I'm sure. Hopefully I'll be joining you up there in Alaska very soon!

The roads aren't too bad up here where we are at right now. Although if you plan on driving through Canada make sure you bring plenty of Canadian currency and a Mastercard that is set up to work in Canada. There are a lot places in Canada that don't take Visa .....Guess what your Gov't Travel Card is....VISA...of course...lol

If you guys have been watching the news with all of the snow storms in N. Dakota/Minnesota etc. We were in the middle of that a couple of days ago. That was some interesting weather (we had a couple of almost complete white outs), and it was the only day we stopped early because of the weather. We have been able to average between 450-550 miles a day without a problem. You get 12 days to travel to Ak from DC area so we are taking our time.

I think if I would have known about the trouble with the credit cards here we would have just came up through Washington state instead of N. Dakota in order to minimize our time traveling through Canada.

Just some friendly advice if you plan on driving through on orders anytime soon.
