Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Just got notified that I will be interviewing in a couple of weeks for University of Southern Miss CRNA program for 2021 start! Anybody else? Are their interviews more clinical type questions or personal?

Those of you of got interviews. What is your experience, gre score, etc? Just seeing where I stand and what I could do to maybe be more competitive in the future

The biggest thing is they want to know you are serious and making improvements or asking for feedback and doing what they ask is the best way. My stats are:

ACLS, PALS, BLS, CCRN,

2.5 Years Level 1 Trauma in the STICU

1 Year Neuro Trauma ICU and CVICU

Took three graduate Nursing classes in accelerated nursing (Pharmacology, Patho-phys, Health Assessment)

Took their required graduate level Biostats course.

I have been charge, preceptor, and oriented new hires.

GPA-3.53

GRE- 158 156 4

OK, thank you for the advice! Good luck to you!

Did you apply anywhere else like FRANU/LSU?

I was going to Submit one to LSU if I didn’t get into USM. But luckily that won’t be the case! I really like USM as a staff and campus though. LSU is typically a larger cohort and they don’t give the attention and clinical sites receive more competition between med students and other schools. USM being the only CRNA school in the state and only having Jackson as a medical school, allows them free range with clinical sites and check offs. Got a spot at UAB but want USM. You?

Anyone make a facebook group for class of 2023?

If so I don’t have facebook!  But would enjoy getting in touch with everyone before the semester starts.  It’s about to be an intense three years for everyone!  But this is what we’ve all been waiting for!!

We used GroupMe a lot in undergrad!

On this site, there are two Terms of Service-acceptable ways of setting up a special area for your cohort.  Any other links will be removed, per the TOS.

One is creating a facebook page (posting link is acceptable).

The other is setting up a Club, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar area), and following instructions.

Good luck to you all!

If it’s not a major deal, could anyone email me the syllabus for the CRNA program? I’m in the process of graduating an ADN program and want to know what to expect in this path! My email is [email protected] (don’t judge, I made it at 13 LOL)
