Using HH computer software

Just want to get some feed back from nurses who are using labtops or tablets with HH software to enter the HH visit information in to an Electronic patient record. I'm wonder if it's comprehensive, faster and increased the coord. of care? Does the software add to the accuracy? When you enter the information as a Case Manager is it easier to keep track of frequencies, goals and the problems and interventions. I would be interested in know how others feel about the use of Home Health Care Software. I welcome any comments.

I didn't like axxess' medication lists, didn't like the way it handled adding a med after the oasis was done. didn't like the way it made meds look like they were changed or D/C's when u simply just fixed an error. also, when you're finished with the the oasis and submit it, it creates the plan of care. that is the only way to make a plan of care....(and they are usually a mess bc things don't land where u want them......very messy looking).......and once you submit the oasis, it goes to the managers and u can't change anything unless they grant that permission to you. and if you cant get to your oasis, u cant change your p.o.c. HOWEVER, you can go straight to your poc and make the changes, but if someone clicks on REFRESH....all of your changes revert back to what u put on the oasis, thus losing ALL of your edits .........UGH!! So you REALLY need to make your edits within the oasis so it will all jive. (but too bad u have to wait until your manager sends it back to you, and in the meantime , it looks like your poc was created by a 4 year old because you had to blindly create a poc.

I've been able to work with about 5 different programs.......some of them were a little difficult or didn't have enough functions and slowed me down a bit..but none of them frustrated me like AXXESS did, because not only was the program not user friendly, but as i mentioned above: it WIPED out some of my work.

If you go by advertisements and "current Axxess customer" testimonies, you would be led to believe that this is the best program on the market. Nothing but Rave Reviews. those "current customers" are either incredibly easy to please or they aren't even real people.

also, your documentation can be altered and there is no digital trail that shows exactly who changed what. on the oasis.........it only shows that someone "saved" or updated info on whatever section they changed your documentation. on regular nurses notes, it just showed that someone "saved" info. no details. only the username that made the change. this was what sold the company i worked for on purchasing this program. (they took full advantage of that feature).

I can't stand Axxess.

We just finished training on kinnser and I have to say it's user friendly. Will have to see how it goes along the way but so far cuts down lots of time doing oasis of nd nurse notes.
