Hey everyone!

has anyone else applied for spring 2017 bsn program at USF? I know we'll be getting admission decisions soon!

Still waiting over here. I'm hoping that this is the week when we hear from them based on what you guys are saying.

My stats are not as good as everyone's here...so here goes nothing.

-overall gpa- 3.65

-core science gpa- 4.0

- 9 Volunteer hours ( lol )

- Registered Veterinary Technician, full time employee for Emergency and Critical Care

I am really hoping that we hear from them soon. Once again good luck to us all!

you sound like a competitive candidate to me! Good luck! I'm also hoping to hear back today. Do you guys think we'll receive any mail today if it was sent out on Saturday? I usually get my mail at 5pm so I will keep you guys posted!

Nothing in the mail tonight

no mail..

I called admission and asked if the letters were sent out already and she put me on hold and actually asked the counselor (rather than the "end of the month answer they've been giving me). Per counselor, they have not sent them out yet (specifically told them that I am a transfer student applicant for 2017 bsn program)- they added that it will be sent out by the end of the week... I also asked them which will come first email or letter and she said the mail will come first- then the email which is very odd considering that it's been the opposite years before.

this wait is kiiling me.

Thanks @RVT I guess that means we'll be getting letters next week :/

... Hopefully

im also unsure why they prefer to send out mail (which takes days to receive) rather than to just email applicants (which takes literally seconds to receive). I guess their old school with it lol

Omg!!! I was really hopping to find out at least by the end of this week:( ... well let's just pray we hear good news when the time comes.

Meanwhile let's keep ourself busy with other things lol.

University of San Francisco is very expensive. Plus rent is so expensive in the city. can you guys share why you choose USFCA ?? Is it your first choice school or it's a back up plan?

I personally applied b/s I don't want to wait another year or year and half to apply to other CSU schools since I haven't took the teas yet.

Hi! I choose USF because it's not to far from home and for it being well known for nursing. I only applied here so I basically put all my eggs in one basket.

Hi Pursuingmydream,

Great job on the diversion...lol got me to stop thinking about the letters for a sec!

I am on the same boat as you...I applied at USF because I feel like it's a great Nursing School. I haven't taken the TEAS test yet so I couldn't apply at CSU's or even Community colleges that offers a nursing program. I got accepted at CSU EB but for Pre-Nursing, but it doesn't even matter because I would still have to apply to their nursing program- so it's not really getting accepted..lol.

I also applied at Dominican and got accepted but people were scaring me about the NCLEX passing rate, but I just went to the rn.ca.gov website and their passing rate went from 60% to 84% (2015-2016) after they implemented the KAPLAN NCLEX program that they now have.

but still, I want to go to USF lol

Just to give you guys a heads up, I called them because I am shameless and desperate and tried to get specifics and they said....

We are literally sending them out like right now, it just depends on how fast we are able to get these things out. You have about 2 weeks to let us know if you plan to attend for spring 2017...

I was explaining my circumstances because classes at dominican are getting full and I don't want to wait too long and end up not getting accepted at USF and unable to sign up for the classes that I need at Dominican because I waited too long.

I respect your dedication that's for sure!!! Lol

thx for the update!

I really am scared of being is 80k in debt but I know this program is very good and secure, as in clinical sites and preceptorship are guaranteed. Most nurses I know get hired where they had their preceptorship and with some nursing programs cutting out the preceptorship portion... It is a little daunting bc the job market is rough. I applied to sfsu and eastbay but got wait listed for SF and will not receive a decision for like 5 months for EB. I will be applying to ADN programs as well... Really want to get my career going!

hmmm maybe I should apply to Dominican now...

Hey @futurenorcalnurse

do u remember what kind of mail the letters were? USPS priority? Ups? Were they the large envelopes? Did it say "here what you've been waiting for"? Thank you!

if they send with priority mail then we should receive it in 2 days. If it is regular mail we should receive it in 3-5 days.
