USF Non-RN MSN Fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there! I thought I would start a thread for anyone applying to University of SF for the Non-RN MSN program for Fall of 2016. I haven't seen any threads (that I know of). I was not accepted to the Summer 2016 cohort, so I thought that it may not hurt to try again. I heard the Orange County campus is a little easier to get in, but not sure about this. It would be nice to see everyone's stats as well!

Good luck to us all!

Has anyone found another USF nursing thread that someone else might have started?

I haven't seen any other threads for Fall 2016. I'm getting so anxious since June is around the corner and we will be hearing back soon! I just finished taking microbiology and I am hoping grades post next week so I can send an updated transcript to admissions. Anyone else apply with prerequisites in progress?

@stasha_nicole I'm taking anatomy lab over summer because my university doesn't offer anatomy with lab for pre nursing students. I called USF yesterday and they said it'll be another 2 weeks (ish) until they start giving out answers

I am glad to hear that someone else applied with outstanding classes :) thanks for the update about 2 weeks, that is very exciting! Good luck @Karenara

Hey guys,

Has anyone heard anything back from USF? This coming Friday marks exactly 8 weeks since the deadline, and is when we should be hearing back (hopefully). I heard that people who are accepted usually hear first than those declined

I was reading forums and someone got declined three weeks after the deadline, but that might be because they didn't follow the requirements. But I haven't heard anything yet

@Ncbaut, are there other USF fall 2016 forums? I wasn't able to find any others. They were all University of South Florida

They were all past cohorts that are already in session, like spring and summer 2016. I was reading them just so I can gauge the timeline of responses. I read that you get a call for acceptance and then a letter later, an email for decline and letter only if wait listed

I got an email inquiring about my prereqs within the three weeks of the deadline as well so that's highly plausible. Also had a friend receive her rejection through an email 8 weeks from deadline but got a call for acceptance in the next cohort. Good luck all! Hope we all find out soon for the sake of our sanity (:

I really am losing my sanity! I hope we hear by this Friday! Just curious, how were your guys' GPAs and health care experience?

I've worked in the behavioral health field for about 2 years, that's the extent of my healthcare experience other than admin and volunteering overseas. I also have the average GPA; I hadn't calculated my prereq GPA but I'm sure it's much higher (probably 3.5-3.8); I had a bad start to my undergrad.

Looking at last cohort forums it looks like if we're waitlisted we won't know until 3 weeks before starting? O_O

I got some amazing news today, I was accepted! I called admissions to make sure they had received an updated copy of my transcript since I just completed Microbiology. I was speaking with Ingrid who told me that she had some news for me, and that my admissions letter went out in the mail yesterday! So be sure to check your mail this weekend everyone! My background is a B.A. in Sociology and Public Health with some hospital experience and teaching experience. My prereq. GPA is 3.8, and undergrad GPA was 3.4. I will be formally accepting, and cannot wait to meet all of those who will be in our cohort!
