Hello everyone! I am currently waitlisted in the spring 2017 cohort starting in Jan for the USF MSN-CNL non-nurse cohort 23, but I wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to the summer 2017 semester because if I don't get off the waitlist I will be reapplying for summer, and if I do get off the waitlist I can help you all with info on how the process works and what to expect. Either way, since I am going through it right now, I hope to be able to help new applicants. This time can be very stressful. Who all out there is applying?
I just checked and unfortunately I didn't get in. Trying to think positively; I'll def re-apply and research for other schools while also re-taking some courses to better my GPA. I'm also wondering if it's my PS. I just wish they provided some insight on what areas I need to focus on. Hoping the best to all of you.
@Easy I am sorry to hear that. I did not get in on my first try last year. Did you attend any of the information sessions? I did not attend last year before I applied and I'm also 100% sure I was rejected because my PS. I was rejected on the first round. I attended this year (the week applications were due) got a lot of great tips for my PS from Erin and Ingrid. Best of luck to you on your future applications. Hang in there! It will happen!
So sorry easybreezy. Just know that it's a very subjective process for selection and there really isn't one specific thing that would have changed things who knows how they actually choose people. Keep your head up! I had that feeling too after last semester. Best advice I can give is try not to dwell on it and just be confident that you will get in. Apply to more schools and that will help as well. Best of luck to you!!
Thanks @glash, @aposse and @afton. I'll def apply to other schools in the area. I also did attend the info session.
Out of curiosity to those who re-applied, did any of you use the same PS (with slight modification) or start off fresh? Also, if I were to ask my reference to submit their recommendation letter, could they use the same letter?
