Usf Fl - Rn-msn

Hello,

Quick question -

I have contacted Univ of S. Florida several..... times to find out the avg. time-frame for the RN-MSN Full-Time program. I have emailed and called many of the administrators - but I have received different answers ranging from 2.5 - 5 years....

I am in Ohio and will be moving to Tampa in Oct. - I love the FNP program, and I plan to apply in Jan - but obviously this is a lg gap, and would def change my plans if the program is really 5 years... in OH the avg is 3yrs.

I would REALLY appreciate any info.

I find it insane that even the administrators had to ask others.... and still had diff answers.

Thanks All!!

I would not consider going to a school that cannot give me straight answers about their programs even before they get my money.. imagine the disorganization once you're enrolled and committed!

I just graduated from USF in August from the FNP program. Do you have your BSN? If yes, you could be finished in 3 yrs going full time. Good luck.

Verysadmsn can you please give me your stats on getting into USF and your experience there? I'm currently getting my BSN with low 3.something gpa. Since I graduate in Dec my gpa will be in that range. I definitely like peds, but I don't know if a PNP or FNP will be most valuable for me. Since my gpa is low nad I hear the FNP program is very sompetitive I was thinking of taking graduate level science courses to boost my chances of getting in. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I believe the gpa must be at least. 3.0-3.2. It is very competitive. Check out the usf.edu website for the cut off dates, they are very strict in adherence. There is actually a new program director in place and she is a very pleasant and easy to work with. The previous director was an extremely good instructor and very knowledgeable. Again, check out the website for admission criteria and make sure that you submit everything on the list. Good luck. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
