Just wondering if there are any USF applicants out there? I had a couple questions :)
Hi Sean,
I totally know what you mean. I think there are between 8 and 12 guys in the nursing class that started this summer. From what I have heard from past students, there tends to be a handful of them in each cohort. I am definitely looking forward to meeting everyone, and I will look for you at orientation. I am pretty sure we will be easy to spot!
I am not relocating to Tampa. I live in Pinellas County (about 45 min from campus) so I will spend most of the day on campus during lecture times. No sense in making the trip back for breaks in the schedule. Either way it will provide for more study time, etc.. as I will basically be on campus from 6AM to 7PM to avoid the traffic. I am hoping that my clinical site is closer to home as they say it is based on the zip code you are residing in.
Does anyone know what clinical sites are available for the 2nd degree accelerated program? I hear that the upper division students have separate clinical sites vs the second degree students. I am hoping that BayCare/Morton Plant Mease has clinical sites for 2nd degree sequence.
Yaaaaay! I'm so happy for everyone that got in! I'm super excited to join you in the Fall!! I just accepted an hour ago.
I have a quick question; what if we can't make the orientation session on Wednesday, June 25th? I will definitely be there for the one on July 11 for nursing school. Help!
I'm sorry to hear that. It is sad to hear that someone with a passion for nursing as strong as yours won't be joining the program. I would not take the blow too seriously; I have it understood that the admissions committee had to make some serious cuts. They could not accept as many students as in previous years; consequently, seats were very limited.
I might be wrong, but I think there is more emphasis on the personal essay than meets the eye. Before submitting my essay, I had a few of my science professors look at my essay and give me their honest feedback. I found it extremely helpful. I do not know if you have considered taking this approach, but having a fresh set of eyes can change everything!
I hope you will consider reapplying or looking into other programs because you seem like someone who is more than passionate about nursing. Best of luck! You can do it!

Hey Louis,
Nice to hear from you. I am excited to know that there is at least 1 other male attending this cohort (not that I mind attending with women, but I was unsure what the male:female student ratio would be) My name is Sean, I will keep an eye out for you at orientation.
