Anyone applying to USF's (University of South Florida) nursing program?. I feel discouraged because I heard how competitive and rigorous it is.I have a 3.7 GPA. finished about half of my pre-reqs, got A's in all of my science courses. A B in statistics, ethics, and humanities:sarcastic:. I'm currently an ambassador at a community college and volunteering at a hospital. If those aren't good enough to get in the program I don't know what will lol. Is anyone here a USF nursing student? I would love to hear your experiences. I hope I can at least get into USF or my community college. If those fail..then it's off to Rasmussen or technical for me!!
Hello all, although I am not applying to this program until January I was wondering if any of you had gone to a nursing seminar at usf? I am going to be applying to the 2nd degree seeking program. I will have obtained my BS in Psychology, and am currently a registered pharm tech for the past 2 years. I am curious if the nursing comittee looks up each applicants experience if mentioned in our application/ essay? I have a 3.5 overall and a 3.2 pre req gpa. I work full time and do coursework full time. Do my chances look favorable? I am inquiring :)
I have been to the info session back in March, and they food not mention looking into the applicants any further than the essay and the transcripts. I am not sure if they would even be able to do something like that. I would suggest really highlighting what you want them to know about you in the essay since that is how you can stand out :)
@usfgirl I hope to find out I'm in before the 26th which is the day of general orientation. So while I'm down there I plan on looking for apartments in hopes to find roommates too and go from there
Oh I bet we will know before the 26th (or at least I hope). If I get accepted I will also be looking for an apartment. If I were to be in the program, I would hope to have roommates who are also in the program.
