USC new grad program 2012

Published

Hey all, new grad here in the process of prepping applications. Does anyone know what day the October application for USC's Versant RN Residency Program 2012 is opening? I've been surprised to see that no one has made a thread on the topic yet when there always were in the past. If you have any info related to this program, feel free to post here. Thanks!

I think 3.0 is the minimum...I know for most new grad programs they weigh your GPA pretty heavily.

UPDATE: I called HR today once again to confirm if there were any updates regarding the RN Residency for Spring 2012, and she told me that they have decided that they will NOT have a new grad cohort for this upcoming Spring!:bluecry1: However, they hope to have one for August 2012. So, unfortunately USC will not be one of my options for this upcoming Spring 2012.

although that's very sad news, thanks for the info. now i can stop obsessively checking their job page. at least until next year.

Hey guys,

I just left the Nursing Career Fair at the Convention Center in Los Angeles and met with one of their nurse recruiters.

The next Versant program begins October 2012.

Applications will be accepted (June 1-14, 2012). Apply through the USC jobs website at www.usc.edu/jobs. Look for "New Graduate" in the job title.

FYI- The program requirements are:

Eligible applicants must have less than one year of acute care hospitak experience as a licensed RN. A BSN is strongly preferred. The program requires a 2 year commitment.

Good luck!

thanks for the update! did you find the job fair helpful?

Honestly, it was a dud. There weren't very many hospital there. From what I remember it was Childrens Hospital LA, Huntington Hospital, Keck Medical Center of USC, St Francis and the other I can't remember. It was FILLED with new grads looking for jobs. However, their were barely any hospitals there. I did get a cute nurses.com tote bag :)
