USC Keck RN Residency August 2017

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi all, has anyone heard any news or gotten an interview for the Keck Versant Aug/Sept 2017 Program yet?

Neuro ICU. I just got the call and email a few days ago, so they are probably still reaching out to candidates

Well Congratulations AJ. Yes, I'd say that's some pressure there ..USC being your first interview. I don't know how many interviewees or number of positions there are. I'd just say have plenty of nurse/patient success stories to tell, and have a good answer for.. "tell me about yourself" haha. Oh, and have a good portfolio.

This is reassuring... doesn't make me nervous or second guess myself at all... =|

Not my intention at all, AJ. You got the interview! That means they liked what they saw on paper, and that's half the battle with a competitive school like USC. You got this.

Thanks Saydee. It was more of the previous post that made me nervous. (I also don't know how to use this forum or reply to specific posts lol). But I'm totally stoked I even got an interview. USC is my dream. Now I just need to pass my boards this week. No pressure or anxiety at all lol

Specializes in ICU.

Just click quote to imply a response to something.

Just letting you and everyone else know how it is. That is a rough floor, I would never never work there. It's good experience when you're fresh out of school. Not my type of nursing.I feel Neuro is one of the hardest areas to work. You need patience because everyone is confused and you have to treat without further altering their mental status. I was exposed to lots of neuro when I worked Trauma. Medical neuro nursing is not for me.

Thanks. I appreciate your feedback so I know what I'm getting myself into. Any kind of advice helps.

Good luck on the boards, AJ! One step at a time ;0)

Hello

Kaplan , Hurst, Excel or Uworld which review course is best to pass NCLEX RN exam?

Hello

UWorld all the way.

I did the content in Hurst (only because I got it for free). The questions and rationales on UWorld are unmatched compared to Hurst and Kaplan. And UWorld is a bazillion times cheaper.

Thanks SlimSaydee.

Took the NCLEX today. 75 questions. With the Pearson trick I got the good pop up :) Now I just have to wait until officially posts next week...
