USAGPAN 2021

Published

This thread is super early but I want to create a spot for USAGPAN 2021 applicants to share our journey! I’m mostly posting this thread now to spread the word about Iowa Central Community College’s Intro to Organic and Biochem online course - CHM 130. This option was a lifesaver (read: time and money saver) for me and I have to pay it forward. I checked with the Baylor liaison and the course fulfills the chemistry requirement. The only prerequisite is Intro to Chemistry I. I hope this helps someone and I’m looking forward to the upcoming application year!

Serious question. Does anyone else have the Jeopardy theme song playing in their head while checking and refreshing their email, checking for a response from Baylor?

I am asking for a friend.

I hope you all have a good and safe holiday weekend.

I had my hopes way too high for today LOL

LOL me too. I had a particularly rough shift today & the possibility of finding out today was the only thing that got me through my day ? Boo. Hopefully Tuesday!

I can’t believe we didn’t find out today! Guess it’s just another test to see how we react. ? hoping for Tuesday indeed! In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy your weekends and find enough to distract you from the wait! ?

Oh God I hope they aren’t reducing how many students they’re taking because of Covid ?. I feel like that’s a logical reason for not having admissions decisions yet. Feel free to tell me that’s ridiculous and I worry too much — please!

Based on the mission released to usarec (recruiting command) there appears to be no reduction.

@antsrt4 I didn’t submit an application this year for the 2020 cohort- I’m applying for the FY 2021 cohort ☺️ How about you? I’m planning on taking the GRE in late November/early December!

First time here.....does anybody have any information on the 2021 selection? Was anybody able to complete the 16 hour shadowing due to Covid? When will we hear from Baylor on their selection, and were there a lot of applicants?

No information is out yet. Quite a few people completed the shadowing. Baylor/army do not publish a release date for results except to say early September ?

Thank you!  The application process usually opens in January, if you do a Google search for USAGPAN and VA you can find the link to the information page.  If you have trouble locating it, include Roberta Reedy's name, that should narrow it down.  Once you start the application, everything is done through the application portal on Baylor's website.  It is actually a very simple process.  You have to include your official transcripts, your CV/resume, etc...the normal stuff.  Make sure you have your GRE done in plenty of time and submitted to Baylor.  The mistake I made the first year I applied was that I didn't include personal information about myself in my essay.  The instructions for the essay are to answer the question why you want to be a CRNA, and my initial essay was just that.  I was told later that I needed to include more personal info because that was the only way the people looking at my application could know anything about me.

Brian, Thanks for the info! Good luck and have fun during program! When do you start?

The program will start in June of next year.   It seems like forever away right now.  I think time will drag until about March, then it will speed by as I will be trying to get everything wrapped up in preparation for moving.
