USAGPAN 2023
I was a prior service E5/SGT. BLC is what allowed me to skip DCC.

Pretty much everything is covered by your security clearance check. The military has access to all of your information and in a lot of ways it's often better to self-report than have them find it. If its something judicial, even expunged records can be obtained by the government. If you self-report and they don't find any documentation you'll have to write a statement explaining whatever happened. Security clearance also looks at credit history, marriage history, family (foreign) history, etc,. Happy to address this comment in a private message if there's something particular you're concerned with, MikeyD was a former recruiter and would probably be able to give solid advice as well. As far as GRE or GPA scores, recognize that the application is pretty holistic and they look at many factors when considering acceptance. If you've got good grades and scores, the experience shouldn't be a problem and worst case you may have to apply two years in a row. Obtaining your CCRN will make you look even better, although there are some people who get in without it (the vast majority get their CCRN). I'd recommend reaching out to a recruiter ASAP if you intend on applying during the next application cycle. The process is long and best started sooner rather than later. You can also reach out to Jana Johns at Baylor University for more information, since it is a two-part application both to Baylor and the Army (https://www.baylor.edu/nursing/armydnp/index.php?id=956503). Age cut off for new officers commissioning is 42. Half our class is in their mid to late thirties. Age shouldn't be a problem.

I was prior service so did not have to attend DCC. That said, I received my orders early January for a February 14th report date. I had a little over two weeks between reporting and starting DCC on 01 March. The DCC dates are public information you can find online, so I would just backdate 2-3 weeks before whenever the February DCC is and that’s a fairly safe bet for when you’ll report in January.

Current student from USAGPAN FY22, best recommendation I can give you is to enjoy your time off now. Take vacations, spend time with your family, enjoy yourselves. Phase I is rigorous and requires substantial time and energy. ICURN326--if the wedding is important to you it is likely you will be able to make time to attend, but it will require effort to remain ahead and classes and coordination with cadre for the leave to be approved. Leave is generally only approved for weekends and outside of extraneous, emergency situations no plans should include missing any Program of Instruction (POI). We had nearly a month of time to settle in upon arriving where our only real commitment was signing in every morning before taking care of affairs at home, so do keep that in mind. That said, I did fly down about three weeks prior to my report date to house search, only because I wasn't willing to sign a lease without seeing a place first. You should all be assigned one of us as your sponsor in the coming months to answer any individual questions you might have. Congratulations on getting in! The program and instructors are fantastic!

Sorry to hear that, D.

Good information to have, MikeyD. It seems many things from previous years didn't follow the same agenda when looking at old forums! Here's hoping conditions change and I see you on the other side. ?

Does the Army not receive notifications of those accepted from Baylor before the board? Admissions letter date of 04 SEP indicates they would have.
-
USAGPAN 2021
I’m glad they didn’t go out Sep 4 cause it would’ve been even more disheartening to end up on the OML. ?

USAGPAN 2021
Whelp, I’ve got the Baylor part of my application covered! Accepted by Baylor! Now to continue to hope I make it off the OML.

To my knowledge I have no outstanding waivers or ETPs and I’ve cleared my physical. If someone does drop off I should be a go, but now I just have to wait and see. Do you know if they run it like a standard military school Mikey and you could find out a few days before that the slot opened up if you can go? Or is there an earlier deadline since commissioning has to take place?

Order of merit list. It’s the waitlist. If someone falls off d/t this or that we move up.

My recruiter told me yesterday the board had “convened.” Per her, hoping to hear results by the end of the week. Maybe today!
