USA/Samford Accelerated BSN 2015

U.S.A. Alabama

Published

Who all has applied to either USA (July 2015) or Samford (June 2015) with hopes of beginning the accelerated bsn program at one of these universities? I am interested in hearing feedback from others!

Oh yes I understand. Samford is more expensive and that 12 month program sounds awesome. But I'm from Jackson, ms so I applied to UMC but didn't get in. So I'll be moving to Alabama. But I'm excited they accepted me!! But for that reason I sure hope you get into USA just based off of what you have said. But keep me up to date with everything that way if you do choose Samford at least I would know someone prior lol.

Well Samford University is a tremendous institution and their nursing program is excellent! Birmingham is an active vibrant city. I will most definitely keep you updated; as you said, it will be very nice to know someone prior to the start of the program! I will be extremely happy at both universities/where ever I end up. Have you decided where you're going to live?

Ha absolutely not!! But I have been looking at apartments and I will be coming to Birmingham in the next couple of weeks to look at bunch of apartments. I have selected 8 apartments to look at so I'm hoping one of those will be a winner. It's just me and my husband so it shouldn't be that hard. Some of them are in Hoover, Homewood and of course Birmingham.

Congrats to you both! ;) .....now only is South Alabama was that quick with sending out acceptance letters lol.

Thank you!!! I have heard from a few people on here that they are still waiting to hear back. I'm surprised it's taking that long honestly. But hoping for the best for you!!!

I applied for the USA Accelerated BSN/MSN for the Fall and I have my phone interview this afternoon..I am VERY nervous! Hopefully it goes well--she said it would not take long at all. Have any of you had the interviews yet?

Sab1183, how much notice did they give you before the interview? How did it go?

They called me on Wed afternoon around 330 and my interview was the next day. It was 15 long and very laid back.

Okay, awesome! Did they give you any feedback or insight on when you would hear back?

They told me I was accepted at the end of the interview! I was like OMG! The acceptance packet will come in in two weeks. I am still finishing up classes and have one more to go in June (I will be done at the end of June). First day of class is July 20. I know that I was at the beginning of interviews so they will be doing them for a few more weeks and I have read that some people last year didn't get an interview but got the acceptance letter in the mail. Let the fun begin!

Awesome!! Congrats! Thanks for the info! Hope to see you in July!!

Hi. Wondering how the program went. Thinking of applying.
