US visa for nurses

Hi Friends,

I have a two questions.

1) I am a BSN from India who has some experience. Today a lot of vaccancies for nurses in United States are advertised

in media-in daily newspapers .

Is CGFNS is a must for getting these job visas for USA.

If yes, what other exams I should pass ?

If not , how to get these visas and who are the employers ?

Can I get this job visa without passing these exams ?

Is there any sites which i can get previous questions for CGFNS..if yes what are those sites

2) How many visas INS is approving for nurses annually.

The 500 H1-C limit is true or not ?

Thanks in Advance

Alex

CGFNS is required by most states in order to get license.

website: http://www.cgfns.org.

Info on visas is at:

http://travel.state.gov/visa_services.html.

Includes links to immigration department.

I am currently applying for a job in GA but then the agency says that I am qualified for the H1-C but with the volume of paperwork in TEXAS INS and the situation going on...tsk tsk tsk:eek:

Anyway, know that CGFNS is required for taking the NCLEX and also for starting the I-140. The question is how long INS process these paperworks. Know also that the US senators have met and have talked about the long wait nurses take for them to be in US because of immigration...thus impeding the nursing shortages in US. Yes, the H1-C visa is limited only to specific hospitals (for more info, log to shuterman.com) and thus, if you are lucky to be qualified, they said this takes a shorter time frame for processing (90 days). Any info..please reply;)
