US Surgical Tech just moved to OZ

I just move to the Gold Coast from th US about a month a ago. I am trying to find out if I can work in surgery with my Surgical Tech degree or will I need to go to nursing school here in QLD? Thanks

I'm thinking you might need to go to school.

I think the US is the only place that has non-nursing personal scrub. I know in Canada, you wouldn't be able to work. Have to be an RN or LPN with post grad course certificate.

As far as I am aware you need to be a Nurse. Why don't you call the local hospital with operating theatres and ask to talk to the theatre manager?

Interested to know how your situation turned out. My husband is also a Surgical Tech, and we will be relocating to the Gold Coast next year. Did you have to go back to school?
