which US state offers the"easiest"or lesser application reqs for NCLEX exam

Updated:   Published

hi everyone...i'm a bsn graduate in the phil 2011.i didnt took the nursing board in the phil.

i applied for california nclex exam but got denied due to "clinical cases and theory is not concurrent" i was looking into consideration of taking it from other state.

my goal is - to take the test as soon as possible and to be licensed...

to find a place to work comes next, it doesnt matter which state...as long as it will allow me to apply for a reciprocity in ca - in the future.

i was told take it in.... las vegas, new york, new jersey, vermont, minnesota and texas... now im having a hard time to decide where to apply and take in.

im considering 1.new york 2.minnesota 3.las vegas. 4 vermont?

i know they all required cgfns verification before they let me sit for nclex exam. but does it mean i need to take the cgfns examination after they verify my credentials?

in ny- * i dont see that they are requiring to have an english prof exam. did i get it right?

* where can i get "coursework requirement": childabuse identification & infection control .... online... how long will take? is it, somehow a ceu?

bottomline: which state will give me a higher chance to get accepted "easily" for nclex exam.

thank you. god bless

Who told you you could endorse to Ca when you meet another state's requirements? I seriously doubt you will meet requirements because you still have to meet the same requirements when trained outside the US. I suggest you contact the BRN and ask them directly if they will accept your application when already denied?

Most states require CES report from CGFNS and that takes aprox 4 months but a lot will depend on how timely they receive your application and other documents. CVS with NY takes approx 6-8 months as CGFNS sends for all required documents and the coursework required by NY BON can be found on their website including acceptable providers

this is the third post in as many weeks regarding a Phillipino graduate trying to circumvent CA application requirements....things that make you go "hmmmm"

What happend to you happend to me also, I know if you are denied in California, you can never work there unless you study LPN or take Masteral or repeat your BSN course from California approve nursing school.... It sucks!!!!

@Yanee88: this question is asked so frequently it should be become a "sticky", lol. But the real key to this question, where do you want to work, besides CA, as it's nearly impossible to get thru the system here.

As mentioned earlier, it really doesn't matter what state is the faster, easiest, quicker, little to no hassles, once you get a license in one state, then you want to endorse (transfer or reciprocate means the same thing or gets it done the same), that final destination state you want, you have to go thru all the red tapes again if they were not previously done.

It's such a waste of time and money to get licensed in one state, then repay other fees to make the switch. Yes, some have gotten lucky if you don't have SS# then try, but in the end, it will all catch up sooner or later. Even if you have a SS#, you're going back to square one when this could have been all avoided by knowing what you want and where it is want it.

But as it was pointed out, no one out-of-state RN license will transfer over into CA, if you were already denied or even if you try for the first time from another state, CA wants to review your college transcripts, as they do their own processing. Good luck!

Hi Yanee88, CGFNS verification doesnot mean you have to take exam. There are different types of CGFNS services and which one fits you depends on which state you are applying in. Only CP, Certification Program needs you to take CGFNS exam. CVS is only for New York and most of state BON require CES. Also CGFNS has introduced Expedited Review Service if you pay for this service you will get your report faster!CGFNS International

Here is the list of state BON and their requirement regarding CGFNS services. CGFNS International you can check what CGFNS service is required by the state you are planning to apply.

I have applied from Kansas BON so I can tell you about it's requirements; it requires CES (professional report), the need to take TOEFL is waived if you belong to a English speaking nation or your nursing school and textbooks were in English, and you need to submit fingerprint card for background check, then application and fee! that's it! so the main evaluation will be done by CGFNS.

I hope it helped a little. Best wishes for everything!
