US RN/BSN moving to Australia

Published

Hie there!:uhoh3:

I am trying to get an Australian license. I am a registered nurse with bachelors degree from USA and trying to relocate to Australia. Can someone please give me details on the whole process? I need to know the requirements, the board, the fees/charges, and some websites. I would also like to know if i can easily get a Sponsor... like a hospital for my immigration without using an agency.....agency would be my last option. And what are the rates/hourly rate for an RN with 4yrs experience? What is the cost of living? Which state/province would you recommend? I know nothing about Australia and would like to hear some feedback from someone who knows this place.

Your help will be greatly appreciated!:lol2:

Specializes in CTICU.

Have you done any research? A lot of this info has been discussed on this forum.

You mean on this web? most posts are 1 or 2 yrs old and i thought things might have changed especially with their registration and economy. Thanks anyway.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

There are threads discussing the recent changes with Australia and how it has gone from separate state boards of nursing to one central board of nursing. There are threads in the Australian forum discussing wage rate and I would suggest you contact hospitals in the areas you plan on living re sponsorship for a work visa. Starting point would be here Department of Immigration Citizenship regarding work permit

Thanks Silverdragon, i will check it out.
