There is no licensing exam in Australia. You need to pass a credentials assessment and immigration requirements.

In other words - to become registered in Australia your credentials (ie education) have to be approved by the registering authority (currently that would be the Queensland Nurses' Board but we're going federal this year). This means they have to be satisfied with the standard of education and experience you received. Passing NCLEX has no relevance in Australia.

To enter Australia on a work visa you then have to meet immigration standards. You can find more information at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship site: immi.gov.au

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

As mentioned NCLEX has no bearing on Australia it is only for the US. If you plan to live and work in Australia you have to meet their requirements and a lot will depend on where you trained and what your transcripts indicate
