Us immigrant visa interview

Hello guys,

Does any one here has been to US IMMIGRANT VISA interview? What questions they usually asked and what were the requirements, especially for foreign nurses. My friend told me that I should have VISA SCREEN CERTIFICATE but I only have CGFNS CERTIFICATE. Does any knows if CGFNS CERTIFICATE is enough for immigrant visa to a foreign nurse?

Thank you in advance!

Hey Philip,

I haven't been to the interview, yet, so I can't answer those questions. I'm still waiting for my interview invitation.

I know that you'll need the VisaScreen Certificate. This is a certificate that you get from the CGFNS and it's valid for immigration purposes.

To be honest, I'm not sure what you mean by the CGFNS Certificate because that's not an official title of any certificate that the CGFNS offers.

They probably took the CGFNS exam that can be used for vsc and some states require it however at the end of the day NCLEX is still an exam they have to pass to get a state license

Ah, I forgot about the CGFNS exam! I've never really understood the purpose of it and why some people take it when they'll still need to take the NCLEX.

I read somewhere on internet about some of the questions:

Where are you going to work?

What is your salary?

Did you spoke to your employer? How did you met the employer?

And questions about your studies, certification

etc

I´m going to North Carolina. I have already an interview date this year. I´ve passed the CGFNS. And I have also work contract with my employer. But I´m planning to reschedule my interview because some say that I need to obtain first VSC before going to the interview.

Hello guys, What I meant was, I have CGFNS Certification Program Certificate but not VSC. I do have invitation for the interview however I´m planning to reschedule it because I don´t know if I should obtain first the Visa Screen Certificate.

What is the CGFNS Certification Program?

Successful completion results in the CGFNS Certification Program Certificate, which is valid for life.

The CGFNS Certification Program includes:

the CGFNS Qualifying Exam®

a credentials evaluation of secondary and nursing education, registration

demonstration of passing one of the accepted English language proficiency exams

First-level, general nurses educated outside the United States who wish to practice nursing in the United States. A first-level, general nurse (as defined historically by the International Council of Nurses) is also called a registered or a professional nurse in some countries.

Second-level nurses are not eligible to be licensed as registered nurses in the United States and therefore cannot be approved to take the CGFNS Qualifying Exam®. A second-level nurse may be called an enrolled, vocational or practical nurse or a nurse assistant.

Benefits of the CGFNS Certification Program

At the state level, the Certification Program is a requirement for licensure by specific State Boards of Nursing in order to take the NCLEX-RN® exam.

At the federal level, the CGFNS Qualifying Exam® component satisfies the examination requirement of the VisaScreen®: Visa Credentials Assessment for immigration.
