Hi! Coming from the Civilian side here.
These are my stats:
ICU experience: 6 years
BSN GPA: 3.95
Biochem: 4.0
Statistics: 4.0
Science GPA: 4.0
CCRN: Yes
GRE: No
For those who were not accepted, try to reapply again next year.🙏 I applied last year but withdrew my application due to family reasons. I reapplied again this year and got accepted. Don't lose hope guys!
I got in with a 3.62 for both overall and science GPA. I'm in the Army Reserve (12 yrs in). I originally enlisted ad a combat medic 68W with LPN ASI thatconvertrd to just LPN 68C when they took away the ASI and made it it's own MOS. I later commissioned as a 66S (ICU nurse for us army). I have 4 years ICU experience. I have my CCRN. I did not take the GRE or biochem/organic chemistry. I got the impression that the shadow interview was a big factor in my application. They said I interviewed well. I did also get killer letters of recommendation from a COL (CRNA) and LTC (RN: nurse manager).

Also, I believe the shadow/interview and recommendation letters written by Phase II Army CRNAs weighed heavily on the selection process. I was told that I did really well on that.
Also, I have been an ICU nurse on MICU/SICU, became part of the hospital's code blue and rapid response team, preceptor, charge nurse, SWAT (lines team) RN, Oncology ICU, then transitioned to Travel Nursing during the pandemic. I worked in Neuro ICUs and some trauma ICUs on my travel contracts over Northern and Southern CA, Arizona, and Nevada. I floated everywhere I was needed and had great recommendation letters from supervisors and peers from all the different hospitals I was assigned to. To those who didn't make it, strengthen your portfolio and keep trying. 🙏 There is always room to grow. I kept getting waitlisted at other private schools I have applied to until this opportunity to join the Army and USAGPAN was introduced to me. It's been years of applying back and forth with all the schools and I almost lost hope. In fact, I have applied for USAGPAN late (in May) and was just lucky to get a last minute spot to shadow/interview. I really thought I would not make it to the cut off. There is always hope guys. Never give up on your dream of becoming a CRNA and serving the country.
A big congratulations to all those who made it. This is only the beginning.
