US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN) Army CRNA FY24

Published

Hey there..I'm posting this thread seeing who else is applying for the FY24' June start with the Army USAGPAN. I've applied before and know the rigors of the application, the back and fourth paperwork between the recruiter, endless forms, and signatures. I'm retaking an undergraduate class and a graduate science course per the boards recommendation.

Best of luck to everyone.

Post Covid life DCC has been at the end of January at fort sill Oklahoma followed by BOLC at fort sam Houston (so you will live at "home" during bolc). It's possible dates are a little bit later now since they probably don't need all those quarantine procedures but it'll be close. I believe the new class started phase 1 this month.

william Beaumont is the greatest phase 2 site ???

Thanks for the info MikeyD! I actually really enjoyed doing my Phase 2 interview at WBAMC, Major Shellabarger and the other staff were very welcoming and the cases I got to see were very interesting

Good to hear. It's a great site, and all but one of the outrotations is local. I did some lobectomies this week (so I did fiberoptic double lumen tubes), and lots of blocks and ortho. Highly recommend!

I did phase 2 at Womack on Fort Bragg, NC. every clinical site has its pros and cons which you'll be able to tease out a bit more as you progress through phase 1 and socialize with classmates. they're all gonna challenge and frustrate you, so do your best to stay humble and lovable. we all suck when we first start out, just try to suck less and less every day.

as far as the timeline - the classes after me and HPSP people I've interacted with have shared that COVID has screwed it up. I applied in June 2018, received my commission in December 2018 (lots of waiting on recruiting/admin/scroll ***), traveled to Fort Sam Houston, TX in January 2019, DCC at Fort Sill, OK from February to March 2019, BOLC at Fort Sam Houston, TX from mid-March to May 2019, Phase I mid-June 2019 to mid-June 2020, Phase II mid-June 2020 to mid-June 2022.

Thank you for the timeline. This helps get an idea how the training looks pre school etc. Was the break from BOLC to start of school more prep / personal time? TIA
